It is an excellent pair of badminton shoes - it is very light (lighter than all Mizuno badminton shoes as well as other Yonex shoes), but at the same time, gives sufficient cushioning.

    Rick,
    Can you make a comparation between SHB-98 and SHB-89 and SHB-92 ?

    Thanks.

I don't have SHB89. In compare with SHB92, the main difference is on weight, i.e. SHB98 is much lighter. For cushioing, there should have some improvement as well but I don't think it is significant.

    Ricky,
Do you think that the prive is comparable with the improvement ?
The price of SHB-98 is double as SHB-92 or SHB-89 !

It's difficult to say ... All I can say is you won't get double performance with SHB98. Whether it is worth or not is up to individual choice.

p.s. Since I bought JP version of SHB92 and SHB98, the price difference is not that big.

IMO, the SHB 98 is worth its price. I've worn the SHB 88, SHB 92 EX and SHB 95 EX before.

It's much lighter than the SHB 88, more comfortable and wider than the SHB 92 EX, and more stable than the SHB 95 EX. Dun know how it compares with the SHB 89 though.

This is a model that's exclusive to Asia, right?

Besides the JP version, there is Singapore version available in HK as well. While they look almost the same, there are some noticeable differences.

I know the flagship models always get alll the media coverage. But what about the mid-range and low end stuff? Anyone know whether Yonex is introducing any new shoes at that end of the spectrum? (Those are the only ones I can afford until I find myself a real job. :( )

    Well i have both Shb89 and Shb98.

89 for me it gives more ankle support than 98. However Shb98 is much lighter. In terms of cushioning 98 gives more support. will give more feedback once i use both of them longer. this is what i can share at the moment.

Sorry, I don't know much about Low and Mid.
The picture (upper here) which posted by modious, is it a Mid one ?
And the picture from ants is the Low one ?
