Well you mentioned and I quote:

"I think nowadays, rank does not play a role in any tournaments ..."

Maybe you did not make yourself clear.
We shall see how the tournament plays out in WS.

So Derek Wong, Singapore's MS hope, has to sit out for the rest of the tournament as he also lost in MD with youngster Chao Huang.

Our hope is that the ladies can do better.

New XD pair Terry Hee and Fu Mingtian succeeded in overcoming INA pair of Alvent and Rizki, 21-13, 18-21, 21-13, Quite an achievement I think.

Olympic Champion LXR is always an exception. But upsets do happen and if LXR is not taking the SO seriously as reported previously, then others of lower rank will have a chance. Maybe Saina's luck will change for the better here.

After much thought and careful consideration, I've come to the conclusion that there is only one title for H S Prannoy that fits him....

    "Raging Bull."

WD pair of MJ/TJH have gone a bit off the boil since late last year's heroics.
This could be the event where they rediscover their winning ways....

There's still hope yet for Ashton who is leading Prannoy in the rubber 18-12.

Yes Ashton won 19-21, 21-19, 21-12. But he has to prove his worth later in the afternoon whether he is of main draw material.
