what's everyone's routine play place and time? It would be great to meet BFers in Bay Area, CA.

unfortunately, i don't have a routine schedule. it depends on how busy i am at work and if i have previous engagements during the weekend. like, i played tues/wed/sun last week, but this week, i haven't touched my rackets once...

    sigh.

well, if the Great LB says he is flying over from the east coast just to visit us, we will hold a mini-tournament in his honor.

Of course the winner is clearly obvious *cough* kwun :p I'll make an effort to defeat you though, but I highly doubt I can though. And it's a no go for me this saturday seeing as it's my birthday.

To me that would mean I would definatley be going, no questions asked!, In fact I would probably make special plans to make sure I could play then.

Aww that's really sad, one of my friends is a UCalg and she is still playing though. Apparently it's really unfriendly there though according to her.

Luckily my home club closes 23 Dec (yes I know I said I was taking a break, but not till the end of the year *clings desperately to his few remaining sessions* ;P)

    Sorry Pleasanton

    Sorry everyone :(

I didn't realize there was going to be such a turn out at Pleasanton on the 12/6.
I played in the Berkeley tourney and was resting on Saturday. This Saturday I have a wedding to go to.

But I usually go to Pleasanton on Saturdays.

Hey! does anyone play at Brett Hart middle school in Oakland? It's near Fruitvale and MacArthur. Opens on Tue and Fri 6-9 and only $2. There's four courts. the gym isn't anywhere near as nice as the one in pleasanton but its serviceable. There are some good matches sometimes (mine not included of course :D ). But Imre Bereknyei plays there and runs the program. In case you don't know, he's an A player that I've never seen lose! He recently beat Mike Yang at UCDavis Open and I think he's much older than Mike. He's ranked on the USBA as #1 in two age groups. At Brett Hart he plays mixed doubles against any challengers.

The strategy to beating Imre and his female partner is not to get into long rallies. He'll eat you alive. You have to keep him on the defensive.

Fridays are usually busier. They will close for the Christmas break on 12/19 and reopen 1/6/04. I usually go on both days since I work 15 minutes from there. I'll set up another thread under "Places to Play" in January.
