Hi Psalm31, wonder where you are from? If you are from Singapore, you can see the unusually tall Xiao Luxi (1.78 metres) in training at the SBA Hall. Not during this period though as she and her team mates are trying to win the gold medal for Singapore at the ongoing SEA Games in Vietnam. You probably know that 21-year old Luxi has recently become a Singapore citizen, having been brought here from China in 1998. This beauty of a player has had a yo-yo performance so far, reaching the semi-finals of the Asian Badminton Championships in November 2002 before losing to China's Zhou Mi. At the 2001 Hongkong Open Grand Prix, she teamed up with Liu Zhen to win the doubles title. But at the recent Singapore Pools Asian Satellite held in September, she was rudely ushered out in the second round by an Indonesian newcomer, Antarini Silvi, 4-11, 3-11. Unfortunately, I have no pics of Luxi to post for you.
Thanks Mr Loh for the information, yes indeed she's a beauty as i did saw her a couple of time training at SBA. Hope that she will continue to do well for Singapore and i would like to take this opportunity to congratulate them for winning the Gold medal for Singapore.
Is it me or is she amazingly relaxed when playing the shots? each pisture shows her face looking like she just finished her yoga exercise. When I play and when I see pictures of others play they are always faces screwed up giving everything into the shot, or redfaced and sweaty. She looks cool. made me smile this morning.
I noticed that too; she seems very photogenic, and quite aware of the fact she is being photographed. However, I think Kati Tolmoff of Estonia is better looking; I searched on Badmintonphoto and also on Google Images for a pic. of her, but there are none. On Badmintonphoto, they don't even have a section on Estonia. They have a couple of pics. of Scottish players. Whenever one of these players (I won't mention his name lest he hits me next time I play in the same centre) hits a shot his face goes into spasm, and his tounge bulges in the front of his mouth. It only happens for a fraction of a second, but it's strange & amusing when caught on film.
Oh yes, wait till our young friends meet her in person! You need to be no shorter than 6 ft though to be able to match her height and look her in the eyes. She's has sort of a tan complexion, quite unusual for a Chinese girl, but remember she has resided many years now in sunny Singapore! You have seen her face. As the saying goes, "Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder" and it is up to you guys to decided whether she is pretty. If you trust my judgement, she is no ordinary girl. When you meet her for the first time she will appear so stunning that you will have to ask yourself: "What is this model of a lady doing here with her badminton racket and in her shorts?" Man, after that you will come down to SBA every day to watch her train! Some bad news though. Last evening, she lost her second singles match at the ongoing Vietnam SEA Games to Thailand's Saralee Thuongthongkam 8-11, 11-6 and 3-11, and Singapore just manage to win the gold medal with a 3-2 edge over Thailand in the women's team event. She also lost her doubles match with Li Li, Singapore's first singles player. But it was a historic gold for our women who have never gone so far in the past games!
That's why |r|s likes to watch her play! She's tall, pretty...... her legs are pretty long as well.....
- Her strokes and court movements are very precise and graceful like Zhang Ning, Huang Hua or Li ling wei. Maybe she struggles against fast powerful players, if she works on that she may be as good as the 3 legends described.
I have to agree with you Blitz. But credit to him, I think M has good taste. Anyway M must be happy for Luxi for getting a gold medal. Wonder whether M is daring enough to go up to Luxi, look her in the eyes (wished M is slightly taller), congratulate her and ask for a treat? But not in the presence of his gf, cause we want no trouble later.
Oh, this is a tough one for me as I am not a Luxi fan exactly. Chances are the lucky 'ex' must be a badminton player too and speak good Mandarin and English too, as I'm sure Luxi wants to be conversant in English to fit into the Singaporean society! Maybe my other young Singaporean friends like Modious, Naupik, Blitz, Mongoose, Poseidon and others can give you a better shot.
I guess you have given up,the answer is DEFINITELY NOT ME..haha i will pm you the answer because we are gossiping
hmm well in 2day's papers... there was an article about xiao luxi where she was popular among the male fans.. asking for her number and autographs.. even a doping officer asked to play a match with her..
