i've beening badminton for about a year and a half now.........i'm currently using the isometric 25.......crappy racket........i'm starting to get a good feel for smashing, but i feel that i lack in dropping(i can probably get better after 2 weeks)

anyways.....wen i get back to hk i'm planning to get the mp33 or mp 77
which racket do u think will be better for me? or something else?

I also heard something about different tensions for stringing a racket vertically/horiztonally..........can anyone tell me wat that's all about?

what tension will be good for dropping and smashing needs?

does string over the recommened void the warranty?

    thanx for reading
    hlpz help me out ASAP
i'm goin back to hk on the 19th
    thanx

Alright |BLAI|, here's my reply to your questions...

Different tensions on main/cross strings =>

according to some people, it's to maintain racquet frame shape. But for others, its mainly personal preference.

Ideal tension for dropping and smashing needs =>

It's actually irrelevent how tight you strung your racquets at... you will get use to the tension after awhile. Dropping and smashing is really dependant on your skills, not your racquet tension.

However, generally speaking, the higher the tension, the more power you get... to a point. After reaching that 'point', you will gain more control in your shots and any additional power will be based on how well you hit the birdie. You wanna know what the point is? You gotta find out on your own:p.

Unfortunately, it's best to stick to the lower range (18lbs~22lbs) if you're an beginner or intermediate.

Does stringing over recommended void the warranty?=>

YES! The racquet company needs to make money off you... it won't make any profit if it has to keep replacing your racquet:D

Which racquet do I think you should get? MP33 or MP77?=>

Heh! How should I know?! I have never even watched you play:D. If you're a beginner, stick with the lower numbered MP.

    Hope that helps...

    yes, here it goes:

it's not the racket nor strings ... it's your personal skill. Pouring money into equipment won't make you more skillful. Keep what you've got, re-string it to 20lbs or so, then keep playing and improving.

    Have fun in HK!
