Many coaches instruct their student to keep a training log of what drills they did that session. I find its really good to look at retro actively. There are times when I play I can tell my shots are spot on, for example my smash is precisely where I intend to hit it, and then there are times when its off, either too deep or wide left/right. I can look back at what drills I was doing during my peak to recondition that one aspect of my game.
Its also good to see what drills kicked your @$$ so you can skip those days, err I mean focus really hard.

No, the shoes have nothing to do with tournaments

I had my asics for 1,5 season, which is too long, so they lost all support and grip on court. But I still do them to do sports outisde, I don't want my shb 101 to get dirty. So I still go running or ropeskipping with my asics.
I'm also not really used to the shb 101 yet, and got a giant blister from them. So I'm breaking them in really gentle.
yes, the shuttles... I have different kinds of shuttles at different times.
Just testing them out. Also, I'm not very rich, so usually the yonex ones are too expensive at 17€ or more for one tube.
The victor queens aren't that bad, but not excellent. Kinda liked the mars diamond, they are also not so expensive... But a little bit slow of you ask me.
nevertheless good for training or matches for fun.
Next kind I'm gonna buy is RSL tourney 1, found a shop nearby that sells them at 14€ for a tube. Still pretty expensive (do you guys get them cheaper?) but I think they will be good.
anybody got experience with the rsl tourney 1?
So, now show us your bag

tckang,
i thought the paper fan is solely for a picture-perfect shot until i read it's purpose. no offense, but aren't the arenas airconditioned and the towel handy?

In Singapore, our public badminton halls (where commoners get access to) are all not airconditioned as well. Even when there are air-conditionals installed in the hall/court, they are usually not turned on, only during functions.
Paper fans are in the trend in Singapore as well. I have seen players as young as 15-16years old, whip out a paper fan in-between games. It used to be a very uncle thing 2year ago, but not now.
It is the smart thing to do now.
I even had a fan lesson by an uncle before. The uncle has a cloth fan from China, which he paid quite an amount for it. It has an extra whip at the end. He told me, "small input, big output!"Last edited by Sgbad; 10-28-2009 at 07:45 PM.

It is definitely not for decoration purposes.
And no, most badminton courts, even the high ends one we don't prefer with air conditioning, it affects the game and makes us more easily prone to "catching a cold" hahaha.
The towel is indeed handy, but after you wipe yourself dry, try the paper fan, it works wonders.
And to Sgbad, i learnt this in China and it is definitely Not an "Old man/Uncle" thing to do here.....though i would like to learn from your old man you mentioned hahahaha

sgbad, tckang,
pardon my ignorance but the fact that i play tennis (outdoor, that is, of course) more is due to the fact that i hate air-conditioned 16 or 8 court arenas and even smaller 4 court halls. it kills my workout purpose, to sweat it out (aside from the obvious reason that i like the game).
as for the paper fan, i don't think its an uncle thing--well, eventually we are gonna turn into uncle in due course if we continue to love playing this game until we hit our ''uncle years'', won't we? btw, what age is uncle years? ha ha.

Uncle years would be 40-50years old?
