Earlier this week I got the chance try out the much anticipated Adidas stringing machine.

Here is the stringing video we made stringing the Adipower Tour. We have more footage of the operation of the machine itself. I will need more time to edit and post those as well.

For now, just the video. I will post more of my thoughts and review in a later post.

ps. Thanks Olym Sports of Hong Kong for letting us use their stringing machine and also thanks mybadmintonstore.com for coordinating the whole thing.

Without handling the machine, I noticed the clamp got stuck in quite a few instances in the video. In fact the swivel clamp assembly looks very similar to the original Exthree.

I've seen that clamp base used on quite a few machines, including Prince and Victor. Not quite as good as the Yonex ones, but pretty good.

The supports seem pretty solid. Don't know how much force Kwun used to disengage the side supports, but the frame came out pretty nicely.

When tension head is pulling, it looks like it raises higher than the string bed? Or is it just the angle of the video?

No, it does rise. A couple of the Victors do this, and a couple of the Babolats.

I wish more did, to be honest...

In time that will happen. In the meantime, we must appreciate what we have :).

Interestingly, I think the turntable itself locks toward the end up the pull - another feature of the Victor.

yup. a few of the Porex OEM'ed machine do this. including the Victor 7030, 7032, Adidas, Alpha Ghost/Phantom, ...

the tension does rise during the pull. which is actually a very cool feature. it is also smart enough to know that the racket shaft is right above the tensioner and it won't engage in case the shaft gets damaged.

MSRP for the Adite2000 is 6000$, it is 8000$ for the Adite2000H.

That's MSRP though, it's not often respected. I think it will be around the same price as the Victor machines.

yan.v Call me ignorant, but what's the difference between the Adite2000 and the Adite2000H to justify the $2K difference. Is it safe to assume the model that Kwun demo'd was the 2000H?

    Thanks.
