I was looking at Adizero Pro and Adipower pro. It was interesting to see that they both are tapered shaft; Adizero pro is thinning from bottom to top, but Adipower pro is thickenning from bottom to top. I want to know which one gives more flexibility power. and also how they add power or speed by adjusting their balance point. And how other rackets sport such as a golf or baseball applied a tapered shaft to enhance what? I believe this argument has been done. I appreciate if you can provide me a link. Thanks
Power depends on a lot of factors, one of them being you - how you play, your physique etc. But in terms of stiffness, in theory at least, the one with the thicker shaft at the cone that thins at the "tee" should be stiffer than the opposite one. But having said that, as they will flex differently it's difficult to say which one would give more power. Best to try them both and see which you prefer.
gosen and many racquet brands play around with the shaft tapering too. it changes the kick point/snap feel of the racquet, the way it flexes/bends i.e. no tapering, shaft bends like a curve, with taper at bottom shaft is straight but bends at the thinnest point. taper at top near joint, the racquet frame head flexes..
