Tks, BV for the quick upload.

From the blurry cell phone video, it looks like Bodin ran after and tackles Mannepong to the ground and pounds on him a few times, then kicks him before Bodin's partner and the officials manage to catch up to hold down Bodin. Then Bodin's partner assists and walks away with Mannepong who loses his shirt in the melee.

I didn't see in that video, but a few sources told me Maneepong hit his racket on Bodin's face. Maybe during that tussle on the ground?

This incident will make badminton given the news spot where it usually not.

Another bad publicity but of course it can happen in any event. Personal issues.

I wouldn't call it bad publicity per se... in a twisted way, somewhat opposite in fact.

This shows how much of a serious sport this is... not like the usual wimpy backyard game that the general public thinks of when they think of badminton.

But whatever Mannepong said, Bodin is the one who lost control of himself. And unfortunately and ultimately, he's the one whose future will be in doubt with BWF and the Thai association.

One week in Canada and badminton players are acting like ice hockey players.

If you look at tournament software, Jongjit pair are the MD Canada Open winners.

Well, on tournamentsoftware, it says Maneepong's pair won, so I'm assuming only Bodin pair got black carded.

This is really sad...what's gonna to happen to Bodin? His wife and daughter are with him in Vancouver and I assumed were watching the match...

Wow, the video is starting to go Viral, already been translated into 3 languages and is making its way across Europe and Asia now. On a sidenote, the video belongs to Malisa Leung yumo.ca

May I ask this of those who live in Vancouver, and perhaps Calgary and Toronto:
Did the Canada Open get even a mention in any of the mainstream media/sports networks this week?

My guess is that it didn't before, but it will now.
Skirts, Olympic cheating, and now Brawling. Seemingly our sport's only pathway to recognition is infamy.

From the video, Bodin catches Jongjit's shirt in mid air as he jumps over the advertising board, he then lands on Jongjit and proceeds to punch him (which you can hear crisply) and kick him until eventually they are separated. Jongit, somehow loses his shirt and walks away with Pakkawat (Bodin's partner)

I'm very interested to see what BWF will do here and further more, what punishments the Thai badminton association hand out. Associations can withhold entries of players that aren't in good standing with them, and as Bodin already left, the relationship between the association and himself must already have been shaky. Also, the video is pretty much conclusive evidence of Bodin Issara actually being forced out of the Thai camp instead of the "injury/looking after mother" excuse which was given earlier in the year.

Such a shame, Bodin/Jongjit was such an exciting pair that had the genuine potential to go to the top. Their split and now this is really sad.
