To all the people in Alberta, Badminton Revolutions
Recently i heard that Talisman Centre (Lindsay Park) is hosting something called Badminton Revolutions where they are taking the top 12 players in the world and bringing them to Calgary for some sort of competition. Has anyone else heard this? I think its very interesting since it is very rare for people here in Canada to see pros on TV let alone live.

I'll keep my ear open on this.
Hmm, 12 players, wonder who gonna fund this since badminton canada wont even fund travelling costs for our national players.

I had spoken with Daryl Yung, owner of ClearOne earlier this summer and he first mentioned this project. He was determined to arrange for specific players to be contracted to attend in order to make the event successful. This event is not funded by any Canadian badminton organizations. I believe he has arranged for funds through various corporations and individuals.Originally posted by cooler

i thought i saw another thread on this, a more updated thread..couldn't find it though, if there is one.
anyways, i saw an ad for this event and apparently it's during the first week of june i believe, not sure of the dates though. as for pricing, i noticed that a "gold pack" is roughly $500 for the entire week of competition (this price might be incorrect, i might even be far off
).
as for the players, yes, there are 12 competitors. of the big names, include: Gopi, ardy wiranata, chen hong (a maybe), bobby milroy and andrew dabeka of canada, and others.
if anyone has some more info or corrections to mine, go right ahead and post
