Do I need a surgery? My damn knee... Serveral days ago, I put my hand on my right knee, and I felt there was a little "ball" shape thing right between the skin and knee cap (about size of a bean). It could freely rolling around. I did not know how long it existed already, since I could not feel it unless I put my hand on the knee. It does not really feel to be exist, I can freely run and jump, just a little bit pain and sore if I really press on it hard enough. I think I will see a specialist within the next 1 or 2 weeks, and hope I don't have to be on wheel chair during the holiday season. Any suggestions?
fatty deposit Maybe just a fatty deposit. Try not to cut it off by yourself unless you know what you are doing.
Hi LB - I think early amputation will put your concerns to rest... just kidding! Actually I have a similar pebble in my shin area. Along the front of the shin bone, the area with the least flesh, I have a tiny floating pebble under the skin that I can wiggle around. I have had it checked out, it was a small lump of fat that had hardened and is just there. Surgery would remove it. It's always tempting - actually looking at it right now - to just take a blade and dig it out myself.
Hmmm... Did u actually remove it? If yes, how long it will take to recover (I mean, be able to walk, then be able to play intensive games?) Or, is it really necessary to remove it? I mean, the size is fairly small, and hardly feel anything (yet) unless I really press it hard.
Hey I had one of those before, except it was around my neck. It's nothing serious, I even went to the doctor about it. It goes away by itself. Yeah, it's pretty tempting to just chop it out yourself. I thought I swallowed a marble and somehow it got pushed into my flesh.
No - it's still with me. as matter of fact, I forgot all about it until your post. It doesn't hurt or affect me in any way. It's just sort of 'bugs' me only when I think about it. The only time it hurst a bit, if I 'play' with it a lot - ie. wiggling it too much and I think it rubs against the bone underneath. But otherwise, nothing bothersome.
i thought i was the only freak!! haha i too have something like this in my neck (i guess it's just me since Swordfish's 'went away'). I didn't really think about it until LB brought this "pebble" problem up. I remember when i first felt it, I freaked out so much.. but after a little bit, i never really worried about it..nothing negative has happened to me because of it.. *knock on wood*
Whoa Me too!! i thought it was like some sort of pulse thingie....^^".....yea its around the neck area, under my Cheekbones.....i had it since i was small, i guess cuz when i was little, i was a FAT kid, so i guess that Explains the Harden fat ^^ haha....... And LB, if its on ur knee does it hurt when u Keal down?, Cuz u might need that position if u know what i mean, keke
Thanks for all the replies... Seems that should be nothing serious. No, it's not hurt, unless I really press it against the bones. Maybe I will just let the specialist check it out, and if it comes out as the way your guys described, then, I will just leave it there. Overall, I just want to be able to play, but not sit on wheel chair for several weeks, etc.
I've got one in my wrist. Sometimes when I hit it while working, it seems gone. But a couple of weeks later it is back again. Talked to a docter about it and he said it was a fatdeposit, wich disperses under pressure (when bumping into something or hitting it) but is harmeless. It is about the size of a rather large pea. Talk to a M.D. to set your mind at ease, but just leave it be. Joop
I had one on my hand and when I got it checked out by the doctor he told me it was a cyst of some description, it can be removed by simple surgery under a local anesthetic but it will come and go with time. Sorry, I can't remember what he said caused them
same here. went to see a doctor, and was told it was extra tissue growth. and the little lump disappeared a few months later. agree with some poster though, if you are truely worried, go to see a doctor, might as well take advantage of the health benefit from your work, right?
