Would LCW revenge his losses against LD in 2012-OG? or Would LD complete his ambition to accomplish 5-times of BWF World Champions ? Further, we also wonder whether the thai's youngsters (RI) could break the CHN's domination in WS ? or perhaps LXR would maintain the CHN's pride, and put her name along her predecessors by winning this category ? Last but not least, INA also wishes to repeat the success story in 2007, by having M.AhSan-H.Setiawan and T.Ahmad-L.Natsir in the MD and XD finals, respectively. Could they clinch the title ? (considering the new-established sponsorship system by PBSI in early 2013) May the best player(s) win....
All badminton fans will witness dream final once again, LD v LCW. A classic duel by the two best, 5th title or maiden title for LD and LCW respectively, we'll see For INA, WC title is certainly important to revive INA badminton glorious after total failure in last year London Games, best luck for them
Playing under the watchful eye of the new PBSI President, Pak Gita Wirjawan, I hope the 2 INA pairs: Hendra Setiawan/Mohd Ahsan and Tontowi Ahmad/Liliyana Natsir can rise up to the occasion and win 2 Gold Medals, which will equal the achievements at the 2005 and 2007 WC.
If LD wins, LCW fans will be screaming against the wild card decision. This is the first meeting after both are married. So will marriage change LCW luck? I think the golden era for China badminton is starting to decline. As I reasoned before, after the 2008 Beijing Olympic, there are not that much emphasis on getting as much talent as possible for sports. Many talents are looking at other fields. Of course, China will still rule, at least the Men Singles, Tong Xinfu's school will produce many good players but I wonder whether we will see someone as dominating as Lin Dan. INA badminton has good chance. Hopefully Ahsan is playing without pressure because they are the heavy favourite this time.
All matches are exciting except the 1st match, WD. Yesterday the WR#1 dropped 1 game. Hopefully they drop 2 games today to make it really interesting and at the same time make madbad's day.
These are the only matches worth following today.... And the champions will be Xiaoli/Yang, Li Xuerui, Ahmad/Natsir, Ahsan/Hendra and .... Lin Dan .... Hahaha ,thanks for watching.
i think Li Xuerui and YY/WXL are the sure gold medalist. just prediction though... other matches are still 50-50
Definitely, WS winner would be Li xuerui. Though Ratchanok played brilliantly, she did not face any chinese in the way to finals. If she have had faced, the outcome would have been different. Let's see whether she could beat Li Xuerui. SHe has beaten Li xuerui only in 2011. H2H records against Chinse players for her is so weak . Other predictions.. WD - as usual MS - LCW XD - Lilyana/ahmad MD - Hendra/ashan
How could the organizer put the XD match as the third instead of fifth? Tontowi/Liliyana wrapped up their match on the same day at 00:30. Smells fishy here as this could be a cunning way so the indonesian pair won't have enough time for recovery. Such a shameful decision!
I believe MD is Indonesia's to take, but for XD, the winner is the one who would control the pace of the rallies. Indonesians cannot afford another lapse as what had happened in the 1st and late in the 2nd game last night. WD and WS is for Chinese for the taking. And MS too if LCW plays with limited composure like he did last night.
This is going to be one of the most interesting Final for a Big Event. For the first time, I believe, in a Big Event Final where non of the 5 categories are contested by the same country. Can't wait for the next 1.5 hours to go away for the 1st match to start. 1) WD: WR1 vs WR5. H2H 3-0 to YY/WXL. WXL was not as invincible & fearsome in yesterday SF. A chance for the Koreans to capitalise. Last encounter 21-10, 21-19. 2) WS: WR1 vs WR3 (after this WC, IR will be WR2). H2H 4-1 to LXR. IR won the 1st encounter, and LXR took the next 4 games with the last one winning 21-12 & 21-9. Hope IR can at least get a games off LXR today. 3) XD: WR1 vs WR2. H2H 6-3 to XC/MJ. TA/LN won last encounter 21-18, 14-21, 21-16. 4) MD: WR5 vs WR6. H2H 1-0 to MA/HS. MA/HS won 21-16, 21-15. 5) MS: WR1 vs Olympic Champion(2X). H2H 9-21 to LD. LD won last encounter 15-21, 21-10, 21-19 in LO 2012.
At least the organise did not play them as 1st match (XD) which usually happens in Final. Well, LD & LCW match is the highlight of this Championship even before the Championship started, so they got to play last match.
Actually, if May comes out fighting like she did against PVS yesterday, the WS match could go either way. It would be a big mistake to underestimate how much May has improved. The WD match will hinge on YY. So I give them a 60-40 chance for the medal.
Anyone notice there's going to be 3 Arc Facebooks in this finals? Moe, Ahsan, and Rat. They're going to sell like hotcakes after this.
Well, at least they could put the XD as the 4th match if their reason is a commercial one (to retain the spectators until the 5th match). They have the discretion to decide the line up (if we recall the london olympics final, the MS which is the highlight of the event as well, is put on the 4th)
