Default Options for making boundries on basketball court

    Hello,

Our club has lines on of the 3 basketball courts lined up in our gym.
Apparently we are getting denied requesting to tape additional courts.

Are roll out courts our only option? What is the cost?

    Thanks,
    Brendan

You want to put badminton markings over basketball court markings.

    Why the refusal?

I am not sure. Our club president approached the facilities staff and was told no (we're at a university).

I assume the ceiling is high enough for badminton.

Yes the ceiling is high enough. We already have one basketball court marked. There are 3 courts side to side. The club has access to another court, but we have no official use for it other than setting up nets for practice shots if we can't get lines taped.

What is the deal with roll out courts? Are they feasible? Cost, weight, maintenance?
The only other option would be for our engineering students to develop a laser court, which would probably cost $2k plus.

Roll-out mats play ok & are durable. They are heavy, but usually come with a roll/transport system, so can be operated by a few people.

The problem is cost. The best I've found is about 3000, not including VAT (UK's answer to sales tax). Therefore, you're going to be looking north of $5000 per court.

Doesn't compare to some tape markings at 20/roll.

There needs to be a place to store them.
