Would anyone like to tell me how they measure the size of the butt cap? Is it the height or the width? I'm trying to buy a new butt cap, but having a hard time figuring out which size to buy, the choices are 1/8 1/4 3/8 1/2 5/8 Im guessing those are all in inches. I tried measuring my racket, mp99, and the butt cap size came out to be H = 20/16 W = 17/16 So im not 100% sure what to do, any suggestions?
If you want a bigger butt cap why not cut a grip into strips and build it up and then put an over grip over the whole construction? The best way to compare is to take your butt cap to the shop and compare, they are only held on by a couple of staples. Those measurements are in inches but I don't know what part of the butt cap they relate to, possibly one of the sides? You could try measuring the sides/edges to see if any of the measurements relate
I noticed that alot of Pro using Towel grip has a very big bottom cap compared to their grip size. I wonder if they build it up or if they bottom cap is naturally bigger. By the way how can you buy a bigger cap?
You can buy them in shops but the easiest way is to just wrap a bit of grip round the butt cap and then wrap round your normal towel grip and it is bigger.
you just put extra grip on the butt cap to make the diameter bigger, some call it knob, some call it handlock, i dont know whats the right term, anyway it'll stop the racket from slipping out of your hands.
yea, but you have to keep in mind that buying a bigger cap will increase the size without significantly changing his balance. throwing on a whole wad of grip, then tying it all in place with more grip will make the racquet quite a bit more headlight.
I noticed that increasing the butt cap with overgrip doesnt give a good result compared to towel grip. I really can make a sexy bigger butt cap with towel grip^^
does any one have pictures of how to do this? I want to try it since I feel like the butt cap is a little small sometimes. What can i say, i like big butt-caps!
