hello... can experts share what they know about the advantages of this two different frame shape? personally, i feel that oval racquets packs more power into the shot. correct me if i'm wrong.....
Im not an expert but what I know about the Iso head and the Oval heads are that: Iso Heads provides a Larger sweets spot, but less power on ur shots and Oval heads Provides a Smaller Sweet spot, but give More power then the Iso head
Isometric rackets - more forgiving, easier to use, more forgiving to off centre hits, wider string gaps making chop shots easier, flashier. Oval rackets - better feel, better sound, more focused in power transfer, better durability.
Yeah! Oval frames all the way, baby!! My impression is that most professionals use Isometric racquets (usually the latest models of their sponsors) but I think most of them started out using ovals because older racquets are ovals. Ovals have better feel because you'll know when you hit it wrong. Denser stringbed contributes to better translation of power generated by you. When you string the racquet tighter, you decrease the sweetspot but increase the power of shot generated (given a proper technique, of course). Most people complain about inferior control with oval frames comparing to Isos, but really, you'll still get control if you're good. It's just a matter of getting used to the racquet.
