There's similar thread about CHN Masters draw : http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php/131795-Draw-of-china-open-ss-2013 Well, barring any upsets home young talent Xue Song and Sun Yu will meet their seniors top seed of this tournament at R/16, Chen Long and Li Xuerui respectively. Bad draw once again for Bella after WC last month, the Olympic Champ is her first round opponent here
Its interesting to see both Sayaka sato and Wang xin returning back and both of them need to qualify for the main draw. And oh no, both of them facing each other in the qualifying first round. Wang xin has got advantage because of home crowd.
I am really happy to see Wang Xin back! But the big draw is in MS, so many interesting encounter right from first round. I wonder how the JOJ - Tian Houwei match will go
Wonder who will the eight CHN MS and WS players respectively competing in the Chinese National Games to have to withdraw from the CHN Masters. That's because the 3rd to 8th placings will have to be played out on the 11th Sep of the CNG. http://results.liaoning2013.com.cn/...neResult.htm?DisciplineCode=BD&DisciplineID=7
To avoid confusion, the CHN Masters is a SuperSeries event whilst the CHN Open is Premier SS to be held in Nov 12-17th.
Indeed, with the Chinese Nat'l Games in full swing, the CHN Masters is being relegated to the background, esp as a number of the top CHN players/pairs who are expected to go deep into the draw of the CNG will be forced to pull out from the CHN Masters. Nevertheless, this presents a good chance for the foreigners to collect a couple of the CHN Masters titles. All eyes should be on newly crowned world champion, Intanon R, to take the WS, and perhaps Tommy or Rumbaka or Boonsak Ponsana or K Tago to take the MS. In MD, it's up to the three KOR pairs or the two JPN pair to fight it out and I'd give an outside chance to the DEN pair, Mads Petersen/Mads Kolding, not too sure about the sole MAS pair's chances. As for WD, it's for the KOR, INA and JPN to settle it among themselves. Ditto for XD. Uh-oh, does it mean CHN may not win a single one of the titles here? Possibly. Even if one or two of their top players/pairs are unlucky enough to suffer early elimination in the CNG and therefore could play in the CM, I don't think they would be in the right frame of minds to do well here; the CNG, a quadrennial event, being more important to them than the CM, apparently. Just some casual remarks.
Perhaps there should be a thread for the CNG, if someone follow the event and care to communicate the results

LYB has confirmed that even those making into the final four at the National Games will participate in China Masters. They will play two matches on Thursday (if they can win the first one, of course). Players who don't make the final four will go a day earlier. No word on those who have to play the qualification rounds at China Masters. See: http://sports.qq.com/a/20130908/004391.htm
I suppose LYB didn't want to let the CHN Masters organizer down, what with the event being held in the home country, and felt obligated to the new sponsor, Adidas, despite knowing that all the players/pairs concerned will be tired or even exhausted, esp when those who finished their CNG matches on the 10th would have to travel overnight to arrive at Changzhou early next morning, and those who finished their CNG matches on the 11th would also have to rush over and play two matches (provided they win the first one) at the CHN Masters from the 12th afternoon the same day. At the same time, he did emphasize that he set no target but expect them to do the best they can in view of the circumstances but without risking injury at all cost. In such an abnormal and unusual situation, I'd expect the unexpected, with all sorts of upsets, and earnestly hope the CHN players/pairs concerned are not too adversely affected by it as it may take quite a while to recover from the ill effects, if any.
According to the tournament schedule, matches on the 11th will carry on as planned. Some of the CHN WS players affected are Li Xuerui, Han Li, Sun Yu and Liu Xin, who are in the semi-finals of the Chinese National Games to be played on the 10th, after which they have to travel overnight to Changzhou arriving there the next morning and get ready for their matches in the CHN Masters the same day. The CHN MS players affected who've to play on the 12th at the CM are Du Pengyu, Chen Yuekun and Huang Yuxiang as they are already qualified for the CNG SFs to be played on the 10th followed by the finals on the 11th including the 3rd to 8th placing playoffs. Let's see how all these affected players (apart from the doubles players) fare in the CHN Masters, it'll surely be a test of their endurance and mental strength to the limit.
Latest update from ts com, some players/pairs withdrew : Tai Tzu Ying (TPE), Ratchanok Inthanon (THA), Jiang Yanjiao (CHN), Lee So Hee/Shin Seung Chan (KOR), Vita Marissa/Variella Aprilsasi Putri Lejarsari (INA), Anders Kristiansen/Julie Houmann (DEN), etc.
Jiang YJ 's withdrawal isn't unexpected as she also retired at the Chinese National Games WS R16 when trailing Shao JJ 19-12 in the decider, probably injured. She seemed to be plagued by injuries or is injury-prone the past 1 - 2 years, poor lady.
An interesting coincidence that both Wang Xin and Sayaka Sato who were sidelined by injuries incurred at the London Olympics for about a year now are making their comeback at roughly the same time and slated to face off each other as qualifiers in this tournament.
Kakibara.com showed two courts. I watched SWH's game with chinese opponent. That chinese guy played well, i must say.
Thanks, though I'm not sure if it's accessible, seems to have other requirements to view the livestreams.
