hi everyone, i am from melbourne australia. i recently bought a yonex racket.. the grip is G5.. i feel that it is very big for me.. and it really affects my game and my smashes.. i usually use small grips.. what i do not understand is that is that in australia, is yonex G5 the largest grip size or the smallest grip size? is G1 the smallest or G5 the smallest? if G5 is the smallest, why do i feel that G5 grips are large? please give me an answer as fast as possible.. thanks..
i took away the original black grip already and replaced it with other grips.. but i still find it very big.. its ok though.. thanks for your answer..
Is it possible that the racket is a fake? A counterfeiter may not have concerned himself with having an accurate grip size sticker.
The "U", the "G" and the "tension" specifications of a Badminton racket . Have a read of this thread : http://www.badmintoncentral.com/for...ion-quot-specifications-of-a-Badminton-racket .
I'm in Sydney and having bought a pair of Yonex racquets from an authorised dealer, the G4 grip on my Nanoray 700fx is noticeably larger than the G5 on my Z Speed, even on sight. I find the G5 to be way too small for me and I have tiny hands so if you're finding the G5 to be too big it's either a mislabelled grip or you have freakishly teeny tiny hands.
Yes, G5 is the smallest grip size for most racquets. As the number gets smaller, ie. G3, the grip size gets bigger. This is Yonex's grip system and might not apply to other brands however.
one of my mixed doubles partner have really small hands so she just take out the original grip, and replace it with an overgrip and that was enough for her.
