I just realized that I've been buying string much faster than I'm actually using it. I now have a number of packs at home and several in my bag. I was just wondering if you guys out there also stock up on string?

    I now have:

    In my bag- 1pack BG66, 1xBG85
    at home- 3xBG88Ti, 1xBG75Ti, 2xBG85 and several no-name freebies...

    :D

ps I also have quite a stock of overgrips but that's another story.;)

Since you guys have so many bags of string, there should be a stringing machine in your home. You must strung your rackets at home by yourself.

How you guys learn to string and how much cost of your stringing machine. What is the different between manual stringing and electronic stringing machines?

Nice to know what strings are in demand

If your stock is any indication of the popular strings in your neck of the woods, I guess it's safe to say that THIN is IN!

What would so you say would be the most requested string by your "customers"?

Here in my city, BG85 and BG66 are the first out of the dealers shelves.

I'll bet you have them in different colors too!

The only reason I tried BG80 once was because I didn't like the lavander color of the BG85 in stock at that time. :D

    Why so much BG65?

BG 65 is the most popular string here by far, durable, and good for beginners to advanced.

I happened to have large stock of thin strings because most of the players I restring for are better players than myself, and are willing to pay a bit more for performance over durability. A below average player like myself break a BG85 once a month so you can imagine how often my customers return to get restrung!

    A little profitable business I've got. :)

I bet he only has "blue" as indicated by his login name. :D For me, I tend to stock white string only, unless being specially requested by close ones.

BG65 is the most popular ones in US (at least, one of the most popular) due to it's fairly low price, ok playability and superior durability. It's suitable for needs of players with different lvl of skill. Unlike Asian market, there are huge gaps in price between BG65 and BG66 / BG85 / BG68Ti / BG70pro. For example, BG85 is listed to be $10 vs $5 for BG65 in my local stores.

Over 50% of customers come to me ask for BG65 or choose it with my suggestion (can't go wrong with a safe choice, right).

Errr......here are the colors. (Not only blue  )

    BG-65:16 (5 white, 1 yellow, 3 lavender, 2 violet, 3 blue, 2 black)
    BG-66:8 (all white)
    BG-68TI:2 (all white)
    BG-80:4 (2 white , 2 blue)
    BG-85:8 (4 white, 4 blue)

I have many BG65 just because its price is very low in Taiwan, and I tend to use them on my normal rackets or string for people.

Here are the racket with strings that I would use myself (some of them not strung yet):
    MP-100: BG-65, BG-80, BG-85
    MP-99: BG-65, BG-80, BG-85
    MP-88:BG-65, BG-66
    MP-77: BG-65, BG-66, BG-80
    ISO-TIS-SR: BG-65, BG-66, BG-68TI
    Cab20L: BG-65
    Cab20(In shipping): BG-65

If you don't count those already on the racquet, none. I don't see any point in bringing extra strings when mine hardly breaks and I can't even string it myself.

As long as I've known, to bring my own string to the stringer will cost me more than to buy it from their shop and let them do it.

Perhaps unlike most of you, I can actually go for a couple of weeks without badminton ... reluctantly of course... :D
