Heard of this guy , started badminton 3 months ago . Almost masters every kind of stroke . Backhand , Forehand , Clear , Drop , Smash , also some trick shots . His routine? 1-3 hours of practice everyday , if he cannot play , he is gonna go watch some proffesional tournaments . His footwork is also good. Tell me , is this normal or amazing?

Its is pretty normal, practice makes perfect. Plus it all depends on how good your partners are and whether they are willing to play with you. Then most people reach a point where it is difficult to improve that fast and they just stay around the same level or improve slowly.

very true. opponent is important. i was lucky to get to play with many players willing to add me in and give me some pointers. it took me more than a year to graduate as a beginner
