Ooof..that's a bit painful to look at. I'm not sure if clashes are covered under manufacturer warranty, but there's no harm in asking.

On the aspect of the Apacs surviving, I'm not too surprised either. Some Apacs rackets are built like tanks.

victor replied saying they would replace the racket....for $75 plus tax
    i dont get it..
either its being totally replaced or i have to buy a new one at full cost

any thoughts on this 'middle price'?
could the store owner , who contacted victor canada for me, be just trying to get me to buy another racket?

was it a clash? if so, then it's not covered under warranty.

that price seems like the wholesale price, so they're not making any more profit off it... they're just being nice to get another mx80 into your hands at the least cost to both sides

however, if that's not a clash, then you need to push your case to get a full replacement

It was a clash, although a very ..gentle one.
I don't disagree with that, I'm just concerned why this isn't more..black or white, why would they offer their wholesale price?
Do you have any experience with this matter?

Thank you for your reply :)

Wholesale price is actually more than that, so I'd say this is a good deal.

Between paying 75$ for a new MX80 and paying 190$ for a new MX80, I think you should choose the former :p

Also, no the store is not trying to make money off you, it costs us more than that to buy a MX80, so this price most likely comes from Victor Canada.

    so it's a clash...

yes, they could easily reject your claim... but they don't want you to go away unhappy, so like i said, they gave you the wholesale price so it's a win-win for both sides...

and yes, i've had this same experience before... :( :)

I'd say they do not want to lose money with something that's out of their warranty, but they do feel for you and would like to keep you as a Victor fan. So instead of straight up declining the request, they offered you a deal.

    Thank you for your responses.

I do get that its a good deal, just don't forget my $200 bought me 3 games, so anything above me breaking even is going to be scutinized carefully.

    Thank you once again :)

I was hoping that would be their attitude, as I love my experience with victor so far.

    Cheers!

The MX80 is not known for breaking super easily. Hopefully the next one will last you for years and make you break even ;)

just remember this is part of playing doubles... :p

i'm averaging one broken racket (from clashes) every 2 years... :(

and unfortunately i think that's the norm...

My MX80 broke within the first month due to a clash so I definitely feel for you. The shop/Victor Canada is definitely doing you a favour by offering you that kind of pricing though!

My dealings with Victor Canada have always been great. Ask for 2 for that price :)

If you kill your racket due a clash at the first day, month or year it's your fault to play with not regular partners or bad partners. That's the game. If you use a high end racket for doubles you will end up one day with a broken racket. I promise. IMO the offer from Victor is absolutely a very nice move. That it happend on the first day should make you think about who you are playing with. If you can't accept and effort breakage of expensive rackets, you should only play singles and don't string at high tension. It's a bad pill to pay 275$ for a MX80 but you should learn your lesson. It's better than 400$. Never play with beginner or bad partners or use a really cheap racket which don't burn a hole in your pocket. I break normally one racket every 2 years like visor. So that's a thug life. ;)

what are the reasons or circumstances that we can claim warranty from the manufacture?
