Fake Rackets Ebay Auction Watch
These auctions I think are very suspicious:
Yellow lettering on the case? weird
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...&category=2919
Fake case, no MP grommet strip, and its subtitle is weird ,too
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...&category=2919
Very Nice Try!
MP-631TI??? The number is like the sum of all MP series rackets!
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...&category=2919
Please be careful about these auctions
PS:Kwun, I think I am going to keep on updating the suspicious auctions in this thread. What do you think?

Re: Fake Rackets Ebay Auction Watch
First one is definitely fake. Real Yonex bags do not have the model number on the case.Originally posted by bluejeff

Second one, case look okay although colour is probably wrong but the lack of a grommet strip is a definite give away.
Third one ... HAHAHAHA!
Not only that, the seller also provide a link to Yonex US web page. Good luck finding that model on the web site. Strangely, there are people bidding on these items!

3rd one. anyone managed to read the text on the shaft? something like Supreme Amor 631Ti.
the seller for racket #2 and #3 are the same person. so #3 discredited #2. #3 also have a simlar racket case as #1.

The seller for #2 and #3 has good record. Don't know what he's thinking to throw away his reputation for laughs.

The second racket, MP99SP, is a fake. No doubt. I've strung 3 exact same rackets here in Australia so far and each and every owner is quite annoyed to find their rackets are not the real thing.
The dead give away part is the side decal where "UltimumTi - power transfer technology" sits in relation with the grommet. The real Yonex rackets I have strung have decals just clear of the 12th grommet. Fake ones have decals either far off or overlapping the same said grommet, as less care is taken when applying in the factory.
Why do I know this? Had a huge debate with others when fake MP99s started to show up in Oz shores so have gone thru with many MP99s with a microscope...
Also the grommet in MP90/99s are square slim type not the normal round ones.
Ok I admit we were geeks!

In his description, he claims that he bought the racquets a few months ago. Seems like he mostly sells other stuff other than badminton racquets so he might not even know how to tell the difference from fake or real.Originally posted by LazyBuddy

Has anyone emailed him telling him that those are fakes?Last edited by ptang777; 01-13-2004 at 01:16 AM.

Bluejeff,
Hey! On your last post... the last 2 items (ebay 3653531442 & 3653531325) are my auctions on eBay. Someone on eBay directed me to this forum. I am not a pro seller of racquets... just happen to have 2 which my brother purchased and gave to me as Christmas gifts... I don't play Badminton so am selling them.
The 2 racquets were purchased in Taiwan around Sept 03 in a "LEGIT" badminton & Tennis Racquet store. This store has been around for more than 20 years and a lot fo people shop there. I really believe these are not fakes... would it even make sense/profit to produce fake racquets??? Is there that many out there??
Anyway... please educate me and tell me why my racquets are fakes. If these are truly fakes... I will stop the auction and have my brother bring these racquets back to Taiwan to the store and demand an explination.... and a refund!
If you want more detailed pics... I'll gladly provide them.... just tell me what angle and which part of the racquet you would like to see.
Please help me confirm these are or are not fakes.
Thanks!
Ken Wu

Hi Ken, thanks for showing up in BadmintonForum.
the community in BF have seen many fake rackets and over time, we have seen many of them to be able to spot the reals from fakes.
on the 3rd racket. a Yonex MP-631Ti just doesn't exist. it is a model that Yonex has never made before. that alone tells us that they are fake.
for the mp99, read ayl's post above...

2. I am from Taiwan, too. Where is that shop?
3. The retail for a real MP-99 ranges from US $150~200. Now you see why people would make fake MP-99.
4. Selling Fakes on ebay would give you a legal problem and it's a good idea to stop the auctions. Last time, I was dealing with a fake racket seller(kevinXXX) resided in L.A. and I had Yonex-USA chasing after him.

In Addition:
NO Yonex rackets in Taiwan has "SP" on the shaft.
So, they are not made in Taiwan and I really wonder where they originally from.

Hey heating,
I don't see the red color on the frame of the Ti-10. Maybe the picture is too dark and it doesnt show the red color. I also don't see the serial number on the handle, or maybe it is normal...
It would be cool if its a real tough...
