Draw seems confusing.. Direct entry to QUARTERFINALS in some category??? .. Akane Yamaguchi again ??? Will she get gold this time??
Only a few countries can enter. I see Macau have very few entries for badminton. China have put less emphasis on this one. Last East Asian Games, Lin Dan suffered a defeat.
As reported here http://sports.qq.com/a/20131010/016779.htm, the Women's Team event has completed yesterday 10th Oct. In the final, CHN took gold beating Chinese Taipei 3:0, with wins by Wang Shixian against Tai Tzu Ying, 21-16 and 21-13; Tang Yuanting/Ou Dongni against Cai Pei Ling/Jiang Kai Xin, 21-7 and 21-11; and Han Li against Chen Xiao Huan, 21-13 and 21-7. Bronzes went to Hong Kong SAR and Japan.

My apologies, this is the correct one http://data.tianjin2013.sports.sohu.com/data/PDF/BD/56313.pdf for Women's Team medallists.
The East Asian Games is just a minor regional sports event I suppose. In a way it is good for L Xuerui that she is not entered for the Singles Competition as she is carrying some kind of knee injury. For this reason she was not fielded to play Singles and only played in the doubles when Bayi played against Guangdong Century in the CBSL recently, according to the commentator anyway.
Day 4 (11th Oct) begins the individual Singles and Doubles Matches http://data.tianjin2013.sports.sohu.com/Sport_Info_en.php?xm=BD&dmm=10&ddd=11 For each day's results, you can click on the date for the sport you want here http://sports.sohu.com/s2013/5591/s387553627/ A few exciting matches for tomorrow's (12th Oct) Semifinals featuring Wang Shixian vs Akane Yamaguchi (the 16-yr-old JPN Open'13 winner) and Han Li vs Aya Ohori http://data.tianjin2013.sports.sohu.com/data/PDF/BD/67117.pdf The fixture for MS Semifinals http://data.tianjin2013.sports.sohu.com/data/PDF/BD/67115.pdf
No wonder. In that case I'm worried for her next week's DEN Open PSS competition. She really pushed herself too hard at the CNG and the CHN Masters immediately following. There are five remaining tourneys for her till end of the year, namely DEN PSS, French SS, China Open PSS, Hong Kong SS, and the Superseries Finals - hope she can pull through every one of them successfully without injury.
Wang Shixian disposed of the child prodigy and JPN Open'13 SS winner, Akane Yamaguchi, in three sets, 19-21, 21-19,and 21-16, after 80 minutes of play to advance to the Final where her compatriot,Han Li, awaits her after defeating Aya Ohori in two straight sets, 21-16 and 21-7, in 36 minutes. The WS SF results http://data.tianjin2013.sports.sohu.com/data/PDF/BD/56306.pdf As expected for the MS SemiFinals, Du Pengyu and Wang Zhengming overcame their respective opponents to book their final showdown tomorrow. http://data.tianjin2013.sports.sohu.com/data/PDF/BD/56304.pdf Other SemiFinals results : XD http://data.tianjin2013.sports.sohu.com/data/PDF/BD/56308.pdf WD http://data.tianjin2013.sports.sohu.com/data/PDF/BD/56307.pdf Note that Ma Jin/Zhao Yunlei conceded walkover to the KOR WD pair in the QF The MD results not available yet.
The MD results here http://data.tianjin2013.sports.sohu.com/data/PDF/BD/56305.pdf Liu/Qiu was eliminated in the QF by the TPE pair of Chen Hung Lin and Lu Chia Pin who then prevailed over the JPN pair in the SF. In the other SF, another TPE pair ousted the HKSAR pair to make it an All-TPE MD Final.
This report says Liu/Qiu retired at 18-19 during G1 due to injury, not stated who was the one injured. http://sports.qq.com/a/20131012/013450.htm
The Gold Medal for WS goes to Han Li beating Wang Shixian 2:1, 14-21,21-17, and 22-20 in 79 mins. http://data.tianjin2013.sports.sohu.com/data/PDF/BD/67120.pdf
