Surprisingly, CHN is not fielding Li Xuerui and Chen Long for the Singles competition.

Only a few countries can enter. I see Macau have very few entries for badminton.

China have put less emphasis on this one. Last East Asian Games, Lin Dan suffered a defeat.

The East Asian Games is just a minor regional sports event I suppose. In a way it is good for L Xuerui that she is not entered for the Singles Competition as she is carrying some kind of knee injury. For this reason she was not fielded to play Singles and only played in the doubles when Bayi played against Guangdong Century in the CBSL recently, according to the commentator anyway.

No wonder. In that case I'm worried for her next week's DEN Open PSS competition. She really pushed herself too hard at the CNG and the CHN Masters immediately following. There are five remaining tourneys for her till end of the year, namely DEN PSS, French SS, China Open PSS, Hong Kong SS, and the Superseries Finals - hope she can pull through every one of them successfully without injury.
