    Hello BadmintonCentral Community!

I was just wondering if any of you have tried both the Arcsaber 11 and the Arcsaber 8dx. I'm split between purchasing one or the other since a person at my club let me use his arcsaber 11 and I fell in love with it as it was so easy to use and gave a great amount of power. However, I have heard some rave reviews on the Arcsaber 8dx as well. I have good power with my smashes and I really am not a fan of head heavy rackets. I normally play doubles and love to smash. I like to have my racket strung at 24 lbs and i play with plastic shuttles so a string recommendation with these rackets that offer power and durability would be splendid. Thanks a Bunch!

    Hi aero,

    I do have both rackets.

Arc 8DX is less weight than Arc 11 and faster in swinging.

But the Arc 11 is more powerful hit than Arc 8DX.

    Tough call !

Arc 11 give me some wrist pain after playing for 2 hours game and Arc 8DX didn't.

    Good luck !

Both very similiar rackets, the arcsaber 11 performs very well though and has better control than the 8dx, you can "feel" the shuttle on the racket face more. Power would be even imo. Mind you the arcsaber 11 seems to be quite weak in certain sections, broken 2 on the 12 o clock position in 2 months.

I played with an 8DX for years and tried a mates Arc11, I happily use a Victor Meteor MXJJS and it's a better racquet than both :)

Isn't it a head heavy racket though? I prefer rackets that are even balanced that offer great amount of power. I was thinking of a Victor Bravesword LYD-N? What are your thoughts on this racket?

Never tried it, My JJS isn't that head heavy. The weight is around the T.

+1 for Bravesword. Although i would recommend BS12 rather than LYD edition.

Yea! I was planning to get that racket! But found out the person that I was going to purchase from sold faked goods from Vietnam... Could you compare the two?

I own Arc 11, Arc 8DX, BS11, BS10 and MX JJS and I think MX JJS is the best one if you can handle the stiffness: very reactive (which is not the case of the Arc series) et stable and fast!

I actually had the opportunity to try out the MXJJS yesterday. It was absolutely delightful although the tension was a bit too low for me... I still have yet to try out the BSLYD, a racket that I especially would like to try out! The only problem about the Arc 11 in my opinion is that its max tension is only 24lbs... Meanwhile the Victor series can go up to 28lbs. Extremely superb! Could you compare the MX80 to the MXJJS?

You shouldn't be discouraged by the max tension of Arc11 being 24lb. I string mine above 24lbs and I know of people who string theirs above 30lb+. They haven't had any problems with rackets breaking or anything.

My observation comes from using these racquets in a doubles game. I have played with BS12 and LYD, both of them were strung with BG65Ti @ 23 lbs. BS12 feels like a more even balance racquet while LYD is kind of head heavy. In mid court and close to net, i feel BS12 is quick while LYD is a little slow. When you are pushed to the rear court, clears are effortless with LYD and BS12. Well the margin of difference is very very small. I can manage doubles with LYD racquet as well, just that i need to account for the time i need to adjust to this racquet. In my opinion, both BS12 and LYD are outstanding racquets offering a great alternative to Yonex counterparts.

That may be the case but i've broken two in short succession with 23lb stringing, both in the same spot. Might be to do with material changes in the frame who knows.

Mind if we start this thread back up? I'm debating to grab a pair of 8DX's but need to know how it stacks up against the 11
