Hello guys, would love to get some recommendation n what racket i should use since I was plagued with shoulder injury previously. Hoping to use some racket that could ease up on my shoulder. What are the area that I should consider? 1) 4u better than 3u or maybe even lighter than that? 2) More stiff or more flex shaft? Currently changing my game to less aggressive and smash. Budget is not a problem for me Thanks for all the reply in advance
definitely balanced bp and mid flex which rackets do you have that caused the shoulder problem? for me it was the vtzf
balance point and mid flex. any racket recommendation? is it true that victor medium flex is more stiffer than yonex medium flex? currently considering these two
i think it was d armortec 900 power and armortec lcp (bought clones). cheap price but i didnt know it was a clone. d seller told me it was string with 24lbs. checked with a shop it was 20lbs. was frustrated coz my smash and clear are very slow. keep pushing hard until i torn my shoulder ligament
Yes, definitely use a racquet that is less stiff. A little head heavy is ok, imo. MX80 kills my upper arms and shoulder every time! Lol ....
how bout weight? does it make a difference? last time i use nanoray 800 4u, it was easy on my shoulder. yes less power but power is not d only factor that can win matches. hehehe. as long as my shoulder ok i can play on happily
I second the BS12. Simply wonderful. As for weight, I think as along as it's not too heavy for your comfort, should be ok?
I'd add that ultra light and head light rackets can also cause trouble if you are a hard smasher. I had arm problems during my mx80 era. They went away after I dropped the MX80 in the favour of MX60 and BS12 but returned when I started playing with Carlton head lights and on that occasion, for the first time I started to feel pain in my shoulder too. Also, try using thicker grips. With the thinner grips there's a tendency to clench the wrist during hard hits and that can also lead to problems.
thanks meteor. decided to go with bs12. still undecided either 3u or 4u. any other racket that have similar characteristic with bs12? coz i sweat a lot and i normally switch racket between sets
BS12 is already a pretty low swing wt racket, so go with 3U not 4U. Some people say Arc7/9 are similar to it.
weight is a very person preference, the BS frame is designed to swing light; I personally find the BS12 3U swings like a 4U compare to a lots of racquets in the market. For the record, all my BS12 are 3U. Just be careful, a light 4U racquet with an aero frame could become a whole new/different problem to your shoulder all together; that could swing way too fast ..............

Hello again guys. Just a quick update. I have been using bs12 and bs12n both 3u for a few months now. Let me say its very forgiving, easy to adapt to racket. Would recommend it. No more shoulder pain for me, except if a push it very hard (hard smashing). Now I am looking for other options that is similar to BS12 to add to my collection. Any suggestion would ne greatly appreciated. Some of the options being considered 1) TK8000 4u 2) mx90 4u 3) nanoray 800 3u 4) vt80 4u 5) nanoray 750 3u 6) mx jjs 4u 7) bs lyd 4u tried mxjjs and tk8000 both 3u. Afraid cannot handle it. Wondering if 4u version makes a bit different Thanks a lot guys
I second that. TK-6ooo is easy to pick up n adapts well. It has a fast swing n packs a punch in smashing. I have mine in 4UG5.
Looking at ur selection choices: 1) TK8000 4u 2) mx90 4u 3) nanoray 800 3u 4) vt80 4u 5) nanoray 750 3u 6) mx jjs 4u 7) bs lyd 4u It seems u r looking at both head-heavy n head-light rackets. First, need to ask urself if u r looking for BS-12 substitutes or u want to play more of an attacking game.
Honestly Im keen towards attacking game since I have both my bs12 for fast paced and defense game. Did take a look at tk6000. Doesnt the 5 out of 5 rating head heavy makes a big difference? Was keen on tk8000 coz its slightly head heavy 4 out of 5. Definitely you suffer a bit in terms of defense and fast play but for me slight head heavy i still acceptable. Correct me if Im wrong
