why?

because he's tall... I was thinking he's more around 150cm... he's only 10 cm shorter than me. I have a very poor vertical, and I was hoping I wouldn't have to jump high in order to be effective (because of my height).Originally posted by reaper

if Chen was 150 cm, that'd be pretty short for an elite male badminton player, I can't think of anyone out there that is that short in height that plays elite right now .... the shortest male elite player I can think of is Trikus Aryanto (I think he's 168 cm), well whether or not Trikus is still elite is widely open to debate, lol

unless you are actually planning to play Chen Hong and win. I don't see how Chen's height will affect you.

I am pretty sure even if he is 150cm tall, he will still beat me in 10 minutes
Hmmm.....so I wonder who is the shortest pro. player nowadays?

150cms... do you have any idea how short that is? That isn't even 5'0. I did a quick search in google and got his height in a minute. That source said he was 181cms, which is 5'11".Originally posted by tropical mouse:

Another quick search got me a source which says that Mia Audina is 161cms, which is a touch over 5'3".

Well, being tall takes advantage in serve and net blocking. However, vertical jump (and leg strength) is not a super hard task to be train. Therefore, just get into enough practice, and you will see ppl will run for lives when smash in the front.Originally posted by tropicalmouse

tall people usually have it easier in badminton and the shorter people tend to work harder IMO
