Upsets were galore in the QFs:-

    WSX (S7) beat RI (S2)
    JYN/KSY (U) beat CP/KRJ (S2)
    NKM/GP (U) beat WXL/YY (S1)
    GA/GW (U) beat TA/LN (S3)
    LXL/QZH (S5) beat MB/CM (S2)
    HTH/TWK (U) beat LYD/YYS (S8)
    GMF/MK (U) beat KSH/SBC (S7)

Rachanok Inthanon, the women’s world champion, has failed to lift her games in both the Denmark and French Opens and has now lost to an even lower-ranked Chinese player.
However, Tonongsak Saensomboonsuk her compatriot, has done well in both opens reaching the SFs .
The loss of WXL/YY, the world champions, was also unexpected and this is indeed a rare loss for them notwithstanding their long rest as they gave a walkover to their compatriots in the QF of the Denmark Open.
The Danish men’s and women’s pairs have done less well than last week and hopefully, they could rebound next month for the Asian tour.
The biggest surprise has to be the win of HTH/TWK the unseeded Malaysians over the cracked pair of LYD/YYS who won last week’s Denmark Open. They will be pitted against KKK/TBH in the SF and it has been along time that the Malaysian men’s pairs have reached the SF of a SS tournament. Who will prevail is anybody’s guess?

that needs the Chinese teams to do them a favour, in the name of promoting and protecting the development of badminton in Britain... as normally the chance is remote for them to cross two more last hurdles...
