So i applied to a yonex sponsorship a few months ago and i had really high hopes of getting it. I have a pretty good ranking in junior Canada and in the Pan am federation but YONEX hasnt replied yet. Does this mean that theyve declined my application or just slow? i've heard that the yonex canada dude is pretty slow too...

They offered me a junior sponsorship, but their terms were not the best

A sponsorship with worse terms is better than no sponsorship. Please note, that there are not only the 3 big and dominant brands which sponsors players.

    You can

    1) wait for an answer from Yonex
    2) join a contract at Li Ning
    3) look for a company/brand which don't sponsor your idols, but maybe give you a contract with good conditions

Well, you're in Canada so you could contact Black Knight. As ucantseeme said, you should try other brands too.

Why don't you just take what is offered at the moment.

As I have heard, Yonex don't offer the best terms compared to other companies unless you have a really high ranking. But then again, the question is if and when they give you an answer.

Personally, I wouldn't wait for an answer after 3 months. In that time, you've sacrificed 3 months of another company's contract and 9 months left to run down of that contract. If your results are good, you should be negotiating perhaps 6months before the present contract ends. If they keep putting off an answer, then you can seriously think whether you want to be messed around or prefer to deal with a company that has more professionalism for the player.
