Aiya, I was thinking Gu Juan has a reasonably good chance of taking gold; now not even silver or bronze with this early elimination. So is Danny and Vanessa's loss in the XD.

And Chong Wei Feng on current form looks good for a place in the final in the absence of Lee CW but he's out too. But, on the other hand, the Thai players, whoever they are, can never be under-rated.

I believe the Thai WS without IR and Porntip (I assume they are not participating as I couldn't access the website) may still be the surprise winner.

Seems to me GJ is losing interest and passion and this is a very unfortunate sign.

Her performance this year is sub-standard.

Our other entry, Chen JY, has a much luckier draw and is likely to advance further, hopefully.
    JIA YOU Chen!

SIN has no representatives in MD and in MS our best, Derek Wong, has succumbed.

    No interest, no commitment???

By Chia Han Keong In Naypyidaw
THE SEA Games returned to Myanmar on Wednesday after a 44-year wait, as Naypyidaw celebrated with an Opening Ceremony filled with impressive visual effects and joyous emotions.

More than 6,000 athletes and officials strode into the spanking-new Wunna Theikdi Stadium with huge smiles, parading in front of Myanmar president Thein Sein.

Myanmar's vice-premier Nyan Tun declared the Games open, the first it has hosted a sports event of such scale since 1969, when the Games was still known as the South-east Asian Peninsular Games.

And when the host nation's archer Maung Wai Lin Tun, receiving the beacon from the last torch relay runner, lit the Games cauldron by shooting an arrow into it, the entire stadium erupted as it kick-started the 12-day sports extravaganza.

sorry to say, but Sea Games lost his prestige long time ago...
in Malaysia, nobody really cares about Sea Games...for me, i dont even know the medal standing
it became a tradition that the host will most probably became the overall champion
with many biased judgements, introduction of non-OG events that benefitted host country
Sea Games just became a routine bi-annually affairs for sports in SEA countries...

SEA countries must think of ways to uphold the status of SEA games in order for SEA athletes to challenge for Asia Games and OG...
