    Rate my first job,

18x20 done on my PP XP Plus with Rkep string. I appear to have lost a knot into the grommet but I'm pleased as a first string job.

Looks neat. What finishing knot are you using as I've only ever seen the tails lie flat to the frame.

They would lie flat if I flipped the racquet over, they're resting on the paper in the background

Not sure the name of the knot, I just copied it from a video. I didn't realise there'd be a quiz.

On further inspection, I've miss-weaved the bottom 2 crosses. Black string is bad in a dark living room.

I'm just pleased the head is the right shape and it actually survived the string job.

    Black string - bloody difficult.

Did you encounter any clearance issues with the top cross? Happens sometimes with this pattern.

The black string was all I had that I could practise with, I'm waiting on a reel of white to be delivered. It's somewhere between Swansea and Taiwan at the moment.

Yeah the top cross is a pain, any tips?

Oh and I definitely need some of those custom side supports.

    Yes:

    a) get some coloured loadpsreaders (thinner than the white ones, better for clearance),
    b) saw the outermost teeth off,
    c) use it at 12 o'clock without the yellow pad.

The Yonex "2+4" top cross can be pulled and clamped without interference this way.

Custom side supports? The stock pros pro ones aren't very nice are they?

I thought I reply here instead of your string frequency thread.

My pioneer/challenger 2 was about 1kg more off the weight markings at around 10 to 12kg mark. I measured using a electronic fish scale. My friend who has just brought one also has a similar problem. It is vital to measure your own pulling tension and not trust the markings.

So for instance if I lined up the weight on the 11kg mark I would be pulling 12 kg.

I've got the coloured load spreaders on their way already, thanks Mark.

After what I just spoke you you about? Can't you give me this little bit of glory?

Yes, I need to sort my knots out as they are untidy :P

The ones that come with the Pro's Pro machine are not brilliant. The one's that Michal supplies are brilliant and brilliant service too! The price is good too including shipping. They make a real difference.

Who is Michal? Link please! It's got to be worth it for when the hole hides under a support if nothing else
