Hi, im looking to develop my game to hopefully reach Olympic and world championship level, I am 16 now and would like to move somewhere next year to train every day to become professional full time player. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I could go to train? Also details of where, when, time etc. Thanks!
Find a badminton center close to where you live and start training there with a qualified coach, then work your way up
I am already on the national team for my age group however I want to improve further and I don't think Ireland is good enough for this.
Do you have any suggestions? I am willing to move anywhere, Europe, Asia whatever, I just want to improve as much as possible
Have you made inquiries with the national associations in England or Denmark ? If your Irish national coaches don't have any personal connections (which seems hard to believe) then surely these organizations would be able to steer you to accredited badminton clubs who take foreign students. Hopefully other BC'ers will have reputable connections for you in these or other countries. Your ardent desire is clear, so I wish you all luck possible in finding out more how to make your goals reality.
Agree on Denmark, not too far, no language barrier, and still one of the top few countries. But you'll have to bring some guinness drinks to tie you over...
One of the additional things you need to do is prepare a sports CV that summarises your acheivements. It makes it easier for prospective places to assess your application.
