Well, different sports require different movements. So no, running shoes would DEFINITELY not be recommended since there's a lot of lateral movements in badminton.

Different surfaces require different shoes. Different sports require different shoes. To avoid unnecessary injury, you need proper shoes. Multiply the above mentioned, you should get the picture of how important a pair of proper shoes is. With badminton, a pair of good shoes is more important than the racket itself. Go and get properly fit.

running shoes are probably the worse sports shoes you can wear for badminton. the thicker soles and tread pattern that is designed to go only in one direction (forward) is a recipe for injury in badminton.

go out and get a pair of badminton shoes, if those are not a available, the closest will be indoor court shoes or volleyball shoes.

    hi,
this is not a good idea to use running shoes for your other activities like badminton or other sports.
because for badminton, one wants maximum grip. when you use the same shoes to run and walk, the shoes lose their rubber grip and get dirty which also effects their grip.
