Last time Jakarta staged World Championships was 1989 together with Sudirman Cup inauguration event.

While Sudirman Cup host is back to China after 2011 edition that held in Qingdao.

    Congrats to both cities :)

Should I spoil a bit how they bid? it is scary..China did go big in term of financial and other benefits..they came with big team..around 17 people in total and Sweden and INA only 2 people each...hehehe

INA proposed more on development program for next 3 years

    Bos,

Why don't you elaborate further details about this development program ?

I mean, if the Chinese provided bigger financial and better benefits term, then why would BWF decided our country as the winner of the tender ?

    :D

    I agree :)

This would be the 3rd time for Indonesia to held BWF World Championships.

The first time was in 1980 and the second time was in 1989.

I am thinking to file 5-6 days annual leaves from my office for this event :D

The decision was done by Council Members so the vote is so close 11 -10...
As you know that most cities in China wanted to promote their cities like Dongguan or KUSHAN so the financial is unlimited and we cant win based on that...so we decide to lower our host fee to BWF while China, at least double or triple it, so we after on International Development programs for next 3 years...you may know that we have few council members that don't have the badminton players like Jamaica, Zimbabwe, Lebanon , so they do not care much about development.....that's how we got it so close.
