    here a one way.

go to the gym, bring a spare t-shirt and a spare pair of socks. bring and play with your old badminton shoes.

by the end of a long day in the gym, change into your clean sock and t-shirt, and then leave the sweat soaked socks/t-shirt and shoes in your bag. leave them there till your next badminton session, you bag will not have the new smell anymore. guaranteed.

ps. i have tried this many times, and it always work as advertised...

I love the new bag smell and you want to get rid of it? heheh.. anyway you can wash it by soaking it in water and soap. no need to put it in washing machine ( never do this ) and also no need to dry clean. You may try kwun's way as well.

If you follow Kwun's way, you're just diluting the germ count. Eventually, after perhaps 5 years, it will start to smell.

Personally, I just use a brush and soap to handwash it. I am afraid the machine won't be too friendly on a bag. Also, just hang it in the bath room, and let it dry slowly. No need to put it into the drier.

maybe once a year empty it, turn it upside down and shake out dust, bits and debris

Geez Kwun, you are not growing mashrooms in your bag, are you?

I just use water to rinse the bag, then hang it on the shelf to dry it. That's very easy. (my bag is a nylon bag, so if you have a cotton bag, it would be another story)
