The Olympic couple officially opened the badminton centre named "Olympic Badminton Hall" on Wednesday (3/10). The ceremony also served as a reunion for former top Indonesian players in their era.

The centre, which is located in East Jakarta, has six courts and a spectator area with a capacity of 100 people. Susi says that the centre is open to public and has the main purpose of developing young players in the surroundings. East Jakarta seems to be lacking of such place if compared to other parts in the city.

About two billion rupiahs (USD 230,000) was spent for the development of the centre. The money comes from the four-time All-England champion's pocket and someone who she mentioned only as a private partner.

The interesting part of the ceremony was the unofficial reunion of former top Indonesian players including the appearance of Sarwendah, Verawati Fajrin, Rosiana Tendean, Yanti Kusmiyati, Ruth Damayanti, Elizabeth Latief, and Maria Fransiska (Tjan So Gwan). They put up a good show for the public.

Susi herself still manages to show off her claws. Pairing with former nemesis Huang Hua, they both trashed a male team 21-13. Hua was a former Chinese top player who became Indonesian citizen following her marriage to an Indonesian man. Susi's winning record against Hua is 6-4.

Hua's intention to play under Indonesian flag after her marriage was strongly opposed by Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) at that time. PBSI said then,"We still have enough Indonesian players, we'll call her when we need her help". Perhaps, they still cannot see Hua's sincere help as an Indonesian.
