It is mainly to get used to the hall before the Olympics I think...
No ranking points were awarded for this.

The pre olympic competitions are more for the organisations to show they are running smoothly, to prove to the authorities they are ready to run a good games.

In some some competitions they do carry qualification point (eg. yachting). But moreso they are for the competitors to get used to the facilities, and the authorities to try themselves out.

anyhow, well done Thomas, any tournament win is a good effort, tell us about the tournament, results, players, and more about the halls characteristics, drift, crowd atmosphere etc....

Hi everybody and thanks for the kind words it is always nice to win a title eventhough it wasn´t that hard. We played two pairs from Greece to go to the final so it was pretty easy. In the final we meet Lars Paaske and Michael Lamp who beat Yim and Kim from Korea in two sets. We won the final 15/12 17/16, it was a really good match i think maybe the best of the tournament.

The hall is very good but i wasn´t all finished yet but everything will be really good in August. The tournament we played was played exactly the same way as they will play in August to test the judges prizeceromony etc.

We were around in Athens to see the olympic stadium and the olympic city, it looked really nice as well, but they must hurry up because they we very much behind in schedule.

    Regards
    Laybourn
