Why do they redraw for SF's?

Winner of Group A vs Runner up Group B seems a better solution to me.

Disappointed the Adcock's didn't make it through. Really should have beaten Chan/ Goh. Wouldn't have mattered much as they would have played Zhang/ Zhao again anyway.

Xu Chen/ Ma Jin vs the Danes should be good. Very impressed with Nielsen/ Pedersen so far.

I'll be interested to see how Kim/ Kim get on vs LYD/ Ko

5 comfortable victories for LYD/ Ko so far but Kim/ Kim have played well recently and i expect a tougher match.

Hopefully Boe/ Mogensen put up a better fight against Ahsan/ Setiawan than they did at WC, but I doubt it.

Expect Li Xuerui & Wang Shixian to both win so we can see another battle between the two of them.

it was done so that player has less incentive to manipulate their group ranking in order to place themselves in a more favorable position in the final rounds.

i have to say though that it makes more sense when there are more groups. as drawing after the 2 group group stage has the 50/50 chance that players who played in the group round will meet again in the first of the final rounds. like we see in MS, WS, and MX.

however, it does work in favor of China for MX as now Xu/Ma and Zhang/Zhou are in separate halves. even though Xu/Ma will have to face the Danes again.

my predictions for the semi-finals are:

    Zhang/Gao beat Chan/Goh
    Pedersen/Nielsen beat Xu/Ma

Ma/Tang beat Wang/Yu - as Yu Yang looks like she is ill and hardly able to play.
    Pedersen/Juhl beat Jang/Kim

    Ahsan/Setiawan beat Bo/Mo
    Lee/Ko beat Kim/Kim

    Lee Chong Wei beat JoJ
    Tago beat Tommy

Wang Shixian beat Tai Tzu Ying
    Li Xuerui beat Bae

That's still better than most professional sports commentators. I remember reading an article somewhere that said that they're statistically wrong with their predictions slightly more often than they are correct.

IMHO, BWF has put the less interesting matches in the early session. all the same country matches and matches that probably will be less competitive are put in the afternoon session, and have NO live streaming. while the more interesting ones are in the evening when i am sleeping....

Wang/Yu WO again? How fun the Chinese team is.. They could WO whenever they want to without the BWF scrutinizing them
