The first one was stupidity. I tried to drive back a shuttle from about 3 feet above the ground. Slammed the racket into the floor (rubber) and the racket head imploded.
The 2nd one was plain stubbornness. Strung the racket up to 28lbs against the advise of my usual stringer (Soh). The head collapsed a few strokes after one hard knock.
Lessons... Cab30 + >26lbs tension does not like rough doubles play... main reason of the reason for this. To cure general stupidity in play, I am getting this

Holy smokes! How did you break that in 4 pieces?
And 2 breaks right thru the part where it says "durable frame" too!

Broken but still in one piece.
Has anyone come across or had this happen to them. Playing MD with the father in law the other night and We both went for the same shot..... (hands up my fault entirely because I did not know where he was) racquets collided with quite a loud bang. When we checked our racquets both seemed grand. But the next rally he ran off court to change racquets complaining that his just seemed broken. I had a quick go afterwards with it and it did seem different. Later that night I checked for any hairline cracks but there was nothing. I was a AT700 limited edition (yes I know I'll have a fun time trying to replace it).
What do you reckon is it dead or would a re-string fix it..

I don't know how you guys managed to break rackets into many different pieces. The worst that can happen to my rackets is broken strings, Happened to me over 200 times. Oh, I've replaced strings so many times that my friend has married the owner's half-sister. So many countless visits to his shop.
Other than that, I've scraped rackets too. Sometimes, small parts chipped off but the size of it just as big and thick as a chocolate flake. That only happened to me when I play doubles!
