nope...its a MP77 strung at 21x23 lbs. There already was a tiny fracture at the 12 o'clock position from stringing. A clash turned the fracture into a complete crack, after that it was only a matter of time...

For people who want to preserve their broken rackets,
Pls be careful with Graphite particles falling out. I actually knew someone who got a Splinter very close to his eyes. He was looking at it with the overhead lights behind the racket and a Splinter apparently stuck very close to his eyes. Thus please remove the strings and Band them with something like Handyplast or something like that. Pls dont use Cellotape, clear tape etc.
Hope this helps

sorry to hear of so many fallen comrades
fortunately i haven't broken any of my rackets, except a cheap aluminum carlton racket a friend of mine broke the other day (hit too hard on frame) that was supposed to be my "lend to whoever" racket. that one broke at the 6 o'clock position.
i got a question.. dont think anybody asked yet. when you guys talk about the "special grommets" to remove when disintegrating your racket, is it the MP strip and the 4 shock-less grommets at the bottom of MP and other rackets? thanks in advance..
also something else i wanted to know.. anybody noticed that you can "zoom" in on the pictures posted on http://www.bbesports.com/bbsxp/ShowPost.asp?id=997 ?? how did they do that? i couldn't open the source file for some reason

How did CAB crack in the first place? From a clash?

yeah. it was a clash that did the damage. a very bad clash as well, i was moving back from the net to do a drive next to my body. my partner decided to block the shuttle and my racket hit his at full force. i thought it would've broke right there but the racket decided to hold on for another day. it lived a good life.

what color string is that on the cab20? is that what they refer to as "royal blue" ? because the packs i have here are slightly more purple... or perhaps it is due to flash from the camera that removes the purple hue?
yessir, those are the grommet strips and the four at the throat.

i noticed the B1 positions broke the grommet though, when i put them on my carlton. it sheared through it in a month...
so i'll not bothe rputting them into any racquet except those that fit well.

thanks. the culprit IS the flash, most likely.

its just... a picky thing. i figured it helps with string life on the middle eight mains, because at the throat, the strings take very sharp turns through the grommets as its threaded. if we don't have the grommets, we have a little peice of overgrip that is cut out in a little square and fitted between the string and frame during stringing.
the balance is barely affected!! 1mm in balance shift!

You guys should keep your broken racket. I remember a few months ago, one of my rakcets grommet broke and there was no place to find one. My friend went to japan and I ask her to bring it with her, she found one in a yonex shop. ^^

hrmm sort of off topic but about a year ago my friend borrowed another friend's tennis racket and we decided to go return it, however on the way to her house, my friend gets the bright idea to go play a few matches before she gets hereso we start playing and i recently learned how to topspin stupid ol me
i go for this topspin and completely miss the racket comes up and smacks me dead in the middle of my forehead at the 8 o clock possition the racket snaps. I ended up with a fat bruise and a lighting shaped cuz on my head
ironically this was the week i was planning to swap my mp30 for an mp66, sadly i had to spend the 100 dollars replacing this racket
this is for the racket that i never got to
