How do you know the racket is a fake one? Don't be misunderstand, but u
know, I'm not professional badminton player, even don't know discriminating
the authenticity, just for business, and just start business on ebay. If
it's truth, I'm also a victim. Still have 8 rackets there. But this is
one-off business between my supplier and me, no refund for me....
Anyway, I could refund all you money at first, but could u help me to
know the truth? I'm very hurry.
    Hope your reply!
Very very sorry about this transcation.

So there we are. I have now pointed her in the direction of this forum and she may be taking a look.

    I'll keep you posted.

    Lisa
    Lisa,

Good job and seems that you are lucky this seller (true story or not) willing to return your money. Make sure don't mail the racket back, until you receive FULL refund. If you using things like paypal, make sure the $$$ is cleared. Before mail back the racket, make sure take some pictures, and most important, save her email.

Very good job as you can get ur $$$ back and might be able to hunt down another fake maker/distributor (assuem her story is true). Make sure be extra careful when you make purchase next time. I suggest you go to reputable local stores, this way, u will guarantee good serives and have a chance to demo various rackets before making decision and make purchase.

This eBayer, matthewboonstra, knows his racquets are fakes, but he insists to sell them. Please be aware of this seller, and not to buy from him.
    Agree, his rackets are fake.

Did you contact him, and found out he actually knows about the fake?

Yeah, other people and I have tried emailing him, but so far he hasn't ask any question that is related to authenticity, but racket information. So, I assume that he knows those are fakes.

That's not the case in Singapore. Laws are tough in Singapore. If this is made know to the authority, i am quite certain the culprits will be apprehend.

    Jeff,

Yes, we will continue to hunt for the fakes.

The nature of ebay is to gain profit from the sellers. Therefore, there's not too much ebay can do (or, want to do) to further regulate sellers.

For us buyers, we also need to understand that there's certain risk behind the fact there's possibility we can save $$$. Try not to be easily trust sellers we don't know. Sometimes, purchase from reputable local dealers might result in several $$$ short out of pocket, but at least, there's no worry about service and no regret afterward.

The same fake seller just posted another new auction, which is a 3 days auction. It shows that he/she wants to get rid of rackets as quickly as possible.....reason? that's something suspicious we all know......

    Angry I probably got screwed

    Hey all,
Just received a message from ccheong42 informing me of this forum and in particular Mr. Matthewboonstra. Very disturbed seeing as how I just purchased an Armotec 700 from him and by the sounds of things there is a 99% chance of it being a fake. Well, I'll see when it gets here, but according to bluejeff the seller (matthewboonstra) knows that the raquets he is selling are fakes. Which sucks for me because I just put a bid on another raquet. Once again, serves me right because I should have known it was too good to be true.

Sorry to ask this again, but what do I look for as to authenticity?

Why not?? At least we can inform YY's Canda distributor to aware it, is eggroll still here??

I know that some SP retailers complained with Yonex about the e-bay advisements which mislead SP's quality is lower, now those advertisments are no more exist. I think Yonex must take action on it.

I don't know the legal system in Canada; in Hong Kong, I can complaint with Custom and Excise to take action.

    Angry

We should be so lucky in Canada. Don't get me wrong...great country, but when it comes to going after criminals we fall way short. However, that's a completely different issue.

Actually just noticed something on the Yonex website for the Armotec 700:

    Grip: G4
    Weight: 4U

The racquet I purchased had Grip: G3 and Weight: 2U. I should have paid more attention at least I would have picked that up.
