I am inclined to believe this is a fake. Please see the top post in this thread or below:
The racket in question above was made almost 4 months after yours but has a considerably lower shaft serial. The serials have been confirmed as legit by leeshim. This means the racket you are considering buying is a fake. Please stay away from it.I have checked in the information of your Yonex
1) Arcsaber 10 shaft Serial:8116021; Cone Code:041283TH (date=04 Dec 2008);

Not a problem. I'd rather spend a short while of my time checking a racket out than know someone bought a fake when I had the opportunity to notify them of the authenticity (or lack of it) of the racket.
Looks OK. UK codes don't tend to be fake either, there shouldn't be any problem with that racket.

I was surfing around ebay and found this (probably fake but can always use a second opinion)
http://shop.ebay.com/merchant/fg4878...Q_fromZQQ_mdoZ
Selling a bunch of rackets in sets of 2 for USD 88

Yeah, you can be 99.99999999999999999999999999999999999999999% sure they are fake, no-one would choose to make such a huge loss selling those rackets.
On a aside note, I believe I have just uncovered one of the first fake Nanospeed 9900s (here). So from now on, be more careful when buying your NS9.9K. Oh and ROFL at the how to distinguish between genuine and clone strings guide. How ironic for a seller of fake rackets to write a guide like that.

so, im pretty sure that ieBro or whatever his screen name was isnt a trusted ebay racket seller
i thought he might be better than some of the other fake sellers (since he does say if its a clone or not, not that i was going to buy one from him)
are those guides even accurate?

I've no idea whether he's a "good" fake seller or not but consider this, whatever fake you buy, it's still a fake so surely this makes all fake sellers as bad as whoever you buy from, you're not getting the genuine racket. The recommended max tension in the NS9.9K listing was 32LBs which is massive. I wonder how it would cope at those tensions and if I had £46 to spare, I'd be a little tempted to buy one and see if it could take those tensions. The sadistic part of me would want to see it break a.)Because I would be getting a fake off the Earth and b.)When rackets break, it's kinda cool.
I suppose admitting that they're fake is a measure that may prevent unaware people buying a fake but at the end of the day, producing fake rackets is still wrong. Some Apacs rackets mimic Yonex but never pretend to be the real deal. Fakes however, try to use the Yonex name. My advice, don't bother, save your money, get a genuine Yonex and enjoy!

I had a look at the guides and TBH, I'm not sure. I have never taken a fake pack of strings and compared them to a genuine pack of strings (I've never seen a fake pack of strings for any length of time). My advice, spend a few pence more, buy from a reputable shop. I have to go out right now but I'll try and deal with the serial later.

"Der Nummer des Schlägers beginnt mit CH und ist das beste was Yonex zur Zeit anbietet." Yeah right!
