Hm... Based on that, it will make our job easier. Just avoid those private auctions.

wait a sec there buddy .... not all private auctions are fraudulent, i have been in the ebay since 2001 and some of my auctions in the past were made private, like the time when i auctioned a frank sinatra autograph, some things are kept private if they are worth a lot

No offense! Private auction on a Frank Sinatra autograph. Maybe. Private auction on a badminton racket! Any rationale?

Private auction is often used for specific buyer(s).
As someone want to buy from the seller directly, but also want to "win the auction and get the positive feedback", and then, seller creates a private auction just for speicifc buyer with pre-discussed amount.

Two possible outcomes for the fake badminton racket deal then:

    1. Knowing the truth: buddies help each other to build "good reputation" while being more dangerous in the market by fooling ppl.

    2. Don't know the truth: "winning big" by getting cheaper rackets, "losing huge" by getting ripped off.

That's the main reason behind private auctions (if the item is not a rare one).

    Plus, no offense taken

    Just a suggestion...

This thread is getting quite long and bluejeff's last post prompted an idea. I think it would be more convenient if there was one post that was updated (ideally, the first post) with all the names and details of the fake ebay sellers as oppposed to adding separate posts along the way.

This way, no one has to read through all the pages to follow along (or get burned too late). They can just read the first post to get to the list immediately.

This is done with most software related forums.

bluejeff, since you seem to be the all seeing eye on eBay and this thread's starter, could you take charge on this?

The idea is nice, however, there is a time limit on modifying the post (like within 10-15 minutes), so I can not do it unless Kwun changes the settings of BC.

Ya, I email the seller fsiar about serial number and weight of his AT-800 racket on Ebay that I'm concern about buying a fake racket and he never did answer back.

That AT800 is a fake for sure as Yonex does't make AT800 in 2U ever!

How to Spot: MP Case color is wrong; AT800OF should be orange color and AT800 doesn't have 2U weight option.

I bought 2 AT800s from him (DE/OF) and I checked them out with the descriptions of the AT800 fake thread. they are authentic as far as I can tell.

I also had both of them strung today at badmintonalley.com and the owner recognized the TH origin imidiately. However, he did not say it was fake.

I believe this dealer is legit.

    Exclamation Armortec 800 OF green?

Yikes! I'm bidding on a Yonex Armortec 800 OF that is green, like the defensive model. Do you guys think its fake, was it ever green?

Here's the auction, take a look at the pictures please

    http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...tem=7106865571

There's more pictures on the some link, the price was so low too, do you think it's too good to be true?

Here's a pic. Thanks in Advance

Well, you already know that the colour isn't correct, and on the auction site it is stated that the raqcuet is 2U. I thought that the Armortec-800 models only came in 3U and 4U

unfortunately, there IS reason to believe that the racquet listed is a fake. =\

i hope you can retract your bid somehow.

How to Spot: MP Case color is wrong and the coloring on the MP99 shaft are wrong and cheap made; AT800 doesn't have 2U weight option in history. Weight stickers are in wrong color (should be in black instead of silver)

This guy is known as a big fake rackets seller; Avoid his auctions!
