What I'm looking for on a string is the best repulsion. But since my local store is having an Ashaway promotion, I've decided to get one. But after looking at Ashaway"s website, they said that the 'Zymax 65' has the most 'Repulsive Power'. But I thought thinner strings have better repulsion so won't that be the 'Zymax 62? So do they mean that the 'Zymax 65' has the most power or repulsion?

My wife says I sometimes repulse her, does that mean I have good repulsive power?

62 would probably be the best, but durability is questionable. If you string yourself get the 62, if not then get the 65.

    Hi Swansea,
i am currently happily using bg66u. Like its control n repulsion.
But I wld like to explore other string as well. Zymax65 is one of the string I am eyeing. Wld its performance be equal or better or worse than bg66u at 23 lbs ?

Honestly I've tried both but prefered Zymax 65. The BG66UM has a more textured surface which means less more control but the Zymax has a more smooth string bed which aids repulsion. The Zymax 65 might also be thinner but it has more power than the BG66UM. Its durability is on par and the Zymax 65 has more repulsion due to its thinner diameter.

    Yonex BG66UM:
    Power- 7.5
    Repulsion- 9
    Control- 10
    Durability- 8.5
    Feel- 9
    Stiffness- 9

    Yonex BG66M:
    Power- 7.5
    Repulsion- 9
    Control- 10
    Durability- 8.5
    Feel- 9
    Stiffness- 9

    Yonex NBG98:
    Power- 9.5
    Repulsion- 7.5
    Control- 9
    Durability- 10
    Feel- 7.5
    Stiffness- 7.5

    Yonex BG85:
    Power- 9
    Repulsion- 8
    Control- 9.5
    Durability- 9.5
    Feel- 8.5
    Stiffness- 8.5

    Yonex BG80:
    Power- 8.5
    Repulsion- 8.5
    Control- 9.5
    Durability- 9
    Feel- 9.5
    Stiffness-9.5

    Zymax 65:
    Power- 10
    Repulsion- 9.5
    Control- 9
    Durability- 9.5
    Feel- 8
    Stiffness- 8

    Zymax 62:
    Power- 7.5
    Repulsion- 10
    Control- 9
    Durability- 8
    Feel- 10
    Stiffness- 10

    Correction: Yonex BG66UM durability- 8
This comparison is according to how it compares to these strings and not other strings. Z65 is damn good but I love the stiff feel of the Z62. Z62 at 22Lbs is stiffer than BG80 at 24Lbs and I'm stringing my Z62 at 28Lbs. Super Stiff. It may break often though.

But the promotion is only avalible when you buy a 'Karakal BN60' racket. I do not know whether it is avalible when you buy other rackets buy I will check and get back soon. When I buy my Karakal BN60 i will get a 10m reel of Zymax 62/65/67/70 for free including stringing. But you could try the BN60 if you like it. Its a 60G (Lightest Racket) racket that is tipped of at the head a little bit.

Its at 'Smash Sports' at Queenstown' Shopping Centre. I will check when it ends and the price of Z62/65/67/70 alone too if it helps.

    Hi
Strung my VIF with zymax 65 at 23 lbs yesterday. Today, About some time into play with smashes, drive, clear etc , felt powerloss, took a look closer into the string bed n realised that unlike bg66u, the strings are all crooked leaving uneven gaps here and there.

    is this normal?
shld I get rid of it n revert to bg66u or change the stringer?

soon it will "settle in" i hope.. at least when zm65 was just strung for me on a couple of at700s, there was slippage and all that for first couple of sessions and when it settled in it was.. nice! :D

can you please explain a bit? the difference between Power and Repulsion. Also didn't expect that 65 would have more power. I am currently using 65 on Voltric 80 26x28lb and love it.
