Lately I have been getting this pain after badminton - at my tibial tuberosity. I am in my mid 40s, therefore we can rule out osgood-schlatter.

On the days that I jump smash a lot, I get more pain (after playing). When playing men double, we have to smash, especially jump smash, to punish any lift/clear. Or else it is very hard to earn a point (I am not a 20 yo, jumping in to attack a serve to get easy points; smashes are necessary).

I want know what you guys do for the pain at the "shin-bump".

Most certainly it's tendonitis. Just like tennis elbow or plantar fasciitis, etc The best plan is rest. Ice it if it's sore. You could take ibuprofen orally or try a diclofenac topical agent.
It would be wise to get examined by a physiotherapist or any sports med type
