Recovery from injury (psychologically)
Can everyone share how do you guys recover psychologically after any injury?
How to manage expectations and lost of previous movements and power before injury?
I'm recovering from an old knew injury, but now whenever I try to play badminton, i do no dare to go all out and move around the courts fearing that I might sprain the knee again.
I'm already on two layers of knee brace...

2 layers? Ouch.
Whereas for me, I have 1 on each knee for ligament injuries.

Confidence comes gradually. Most important is physio and strengthening exercises before you get back on court. Like biking and plyometric exercises.
Make sure your knee tensor is tight enough. Avoid any twisting motions.

do light drills instead of games.
condition, intensity, and expectation in drills are much more predictable. that will allow your mind to ease back into it. whereas there is always something there psychologically when playing games.

Used to have injuries too so could relate to what u r experiencing now.
Start slow n steady. Play like once a wk (better than none), play with an easier grp to warm slowly, don't play too long, take regular breaks in between. Don't forget to warm up b4 n warm down aftr each session.
Most importantly, keep a positive outlook n if things got worse better stop playing n rest.

Agree with above. Also, I find playing on wood floor with less grip is much easier on my body than the rubber courts. Warm up/cool down very important. Also, stop trying to hit crazy shots - might have let some points go to save the body - body first - point second.
