Depends how you Treat them. I have A MP 100/99/77. My fave is the MP 99 as it's more balanced racket i've had Mp MP 99 now for 6 months and had a few clashes still in one piece. The MP 77 is slightly head heaver than the MP 99. My MP 99 is a 3U so is my MP 77 My MP 100 is 2u
I see..hm...Currently MP100 is on promotion and i can get it cheaper than MP77 and Mp99..is it worth getting it ?(for my type of play)
Hi If you are a smasher you should go for a heavier racquet since offensive player tends to prefer it that way. Lighter racquet can give same power but you have to whip the shuttle shuttle very fast but if you prefer light racquet, it your choice. I think the best racquet that would fit your criteria would be 3U MP-100 and 3U Ti-10. They are both very powerful racquet but some people claim that it is hard to play with at the beginning. There's also the 4U at700 and AT500 that are interesting but the shaft of AT700 is very weak. If durability would not be your priority I would go Iso SP all the way since it's very very light, powerful and it comes in 4 flavours.
Personally, I would say the stiffness and balance (head heaviness) should be considered more than the overall weight of a racket. Try to swing or demo the racket before u making ur purchase.
From your budget and your needs, I think you can go for either one of them, and you won't lose in any way. How come MP-100 is cheaper than 99 or 77? that really sounds like good deals.
Hmm, I think it depend of the player, their arm and their pocket. Personnally, I think Ti-10 and MP-77 is more fit for single. Howerever I think Ti-10 is easier to create powerful smash, clear and back shot. I find the Long version way more powerful than regular size but it will take time to get use to it as I was using panhandle style the first few week I had it.On the other hand, I think MP-99 is suit for both plays, double and single. Oh yes, I said it depend of the player, their arm and their pocket because MP-99 and Ti-10 cost alot. Even tough I dont know your class of player, I'm sure you don't want to clash one of those babys in a double game.
For single, MP100 (3U) or Ti10 (3U), I would like MP100 more. For double, MP99 (3U). For both (less powerful for more manueourable), MP99 (3U). Why not MP77, it is very head heavy create good smash, but when the other side return your smash, you will find it is difficult to clear it. So if you get head heavy racket, you better train intensively on your smash and wish to score for one smash and short game. Otherwise, you must bear a powerful wrist and arm. Verdict: Go for MP99. (If you want to find a cheap racket but you dissatisfy it at last. Why not save your money for two cheap rackets to buy one 'expansive' like MP99.)
Try it out first it's no good spending a load of money on one and you don't like it. I Found it hard coming from a Yonex Ti-3 to a MP 99
Hi Aaron, Are you using the old 2 piece Cab 8 or the newer one piece racket? Also, when you switch to your new MP 99, you are most likely better off purchasing the racket from a Yonex authorized dealer to avoid purchasing the SP rackets since they are lower rated and carry no warrenty since Yonex will not honor them.
