I saw a lot of beginners wear running shoe to play . For me I do not , as I few years back, just training use running shoe to do footwork , twisted my leg. Then on , I used yonex, never used anymore switch to li ning /Victor for my comfort and cushioning.

I completely agree with you. I feel that the shoes are the most important "equipment" on the court.

One time, I had a small blister on my foot; once I felt the pain, my whole game fell apart. My speed slowed down; and I also stopped the deep lunges. Instead of jump smash, I half smashed. Instead of rushing up to the net for a tight net spin return, I came up slowly and the only options left are lifts or cross net shots. Instead of hitting offensive overhead shots, I turned around to hit backhand shots. Once my opponent smelled blood (using backhand)....it was over quickly (very quickly).

Totally agree with u. Badmtn shoes r a must on courts. Running shoes just don't cut it.

One time, I was wearing running shoes on courts. My movement was kinda impaired. When rushing for the birdie in a lunge move, I couldn't brake n almost fell over.

And don't worry, u r still sane at least badmintonally sane ; )
