Hi! I'm playing for about two years, I was playing mainly with Voltric 5 (it broke few weeks ago), now I'm searching for a replacement. I was attending for lessons (1.5-2h per week with coaches (former national players)) and a small local league (2h per week). One year ago I started playing with balanced (maybe even head-light?) racquet, I liked it at start, I was very fast near net, but after a one month i realised my smashes were not so deadly :/ (I think there was an article at this site with exactly the same observations: http://badminton-coach.co.uk/4520/what-do-you-think-about-when-choosing-a-new-badminton-racquet ) I tried a few racquets for last month, for example: victor light fighter 7400 from my friend, it was very light and nimble but still HH and I was able to smash as I like. However I think it's a little too light and too expensive (very) That few tests give me some thoughts about my likings, Friends say my style is aggressive and fast (and I dont play doubles) I read Victor Thruster K6000 review, it looks like racquet for me but still, way too much expensive. So now I think I need racquet something like head-heavy, a little lighter than VT5, I don't know anything about stiffness, so I think medium will be fine. It looks like Voltric 7 could be a good choice, HH and a little lighter than VT5 (VT7 is U4 vs VT5 U3). What do you think about that? Any other racquets? I will have some access to used racquets from national players (thru my coach), they're using Babolat equipment.
Yonex Arcsaber 6. 5U G3, G4, G5, Even though it was rated as even balance racket, i check the balance point is too high, 313mm. That's mean it is certain head heavy racket plus cheaper.
I will think about it (its a little more expensive). What about high end Babolat racquets? I will have access to used ones, is there something to check ?
Hmm.. i never used any Babolat racquets before. So, cannot help you.. ^_^ But in my place, high end Babolat are same price as Arcsaber 6 IF i'm not mistaken.
I will have access to used ones (by national players) they my coach (former national player), so price will be similar to VT5 - VT7
VT3 and VT7 should be good choices. Even balance rackets can also work well I believe, you can consider Arc 002. I recently had a go with it during warm-up and I really liked it. For Babolat, best would be to try and see how you feel about them.
of all the low-end rackets from yonex, the Arc002 has to be hands down one of my favorite. it is so easy to use/adapt. it's not on the heavy side of 3u but flexble enough to provide power. as a singles and doubles player, i often look for rackets that i can use for both and this is one that i can use for both, as well as the voltric70
Today Iw playing VT5 again and it's definitely not a racquet for me, too slow, I felt I was swinging a hammer (slow and not too precise) Then I played a few rounds with RSL Diamond X3 gold. Racquet felt lighter (confirmed by 3 persons), however specs says it weights similar too VT5 - very strange. This racquet was much more appropriate to my style, head heavy but more nimble and agile. Is it something wrong with VT5 maybe?
are you really sure it is the dry weight (in their default state, without string and with factory grip and no additional grips or lead tape)? because if it is the dry weight, 313mm is as head heavy as VT80..
Positive lad. I measured it when one of my customers wanted this racket a few months ago. I'm also shock when seeing the BP.
today I was on a training with national player, I tested and played (15-20 minutes) with his Babolat X-Feel Blast. Strange, racquet is a little heavier than VT5, however it feels faster and more agile. Maybe it's something with stiffness ?

Today I've tested another racquet - Yonex Nanoray 10 and I like it. Specification says it's head light, but I felt that I can smash harder with it than with VT5 however this site says it's head heavy.... http://www.directbadminton.co.uk/Pr...ction=yonex-badminton-rackets&ProductID=11903 so what's wrong with these all specifications and with my feelings ? Is it a head light or head heavy? (nanoray 10)
Low end Nanorays/Nanospeeds don't feel especially head-light even though claimed as such by Yonex. I've tried a Nanospeed 100, and didn't feel it to be head-light at all.
http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php/137601-Budget-Yonex-racket-balance-points don't trust the spec! I'd recommend a bravesword or RKEP if you want fast/agile racquet. I think my meteor (BP300) is a touch faster than my voltric (BP 290!) and packs a punch.
