Thwack - New racquets launched with patented grips Thwack is a new kid on the block. They have launched two racquets with researched patented grips. The grip structure looks quite unique. Hope their products are good too. http://www.thwack.co/product_badminton.html http://www.badzine.net/features/thwack-–-a-new-force-in-badminton-is-born/15265/ http://www.hindu.com/2011/06/30/stories/2011063055782000.htm http://www.withlovefay.com/tag/thwack-sports/
Old thread with an answer to your grip question http://www.badmintoncentral.com/for...ACKET-From-the-Backhand-King?highlight=thwack
Neat idea - is it just for practicing your grip or for improved performance during play? I guess over grip should be wound in the same direction as the grooves twist. BTW - how is the company name pronounced?
The complete Thwack catalogue A quick enquiry at their website, and they sent me their product literature as well as a poster. Interesting stuff, these guys are making the whole hog from the very start. Take a look.
They seem to be sponsoring a lot of European players. Has anyone managed to play with one? I am very keen on the 'Falcon' which is the blue model in the centre.
Just saw this on Ville Langs twitter Ville Lång @LungiVille1h Thwack is the shittest badminton brand in the world!people i made the contract with are liars, dickheads and most coward i have ever had to.. Ville Lång @LungiVille1h Dealt with!and because of these bastards i lost around 30000 euros last two years. Cant be really happy about it. DONT EVER TRUST THEM! Anyone know where Thwack comes from? I've never heard of the brand before.
Thwack is brand for Xiong Guobao, famously known as the Backhand King. I have no first hand experience with the rackets. A couple links of interest. http://www.guobaosports.com/indexe.asp http://www.thwack.co/guobao/index.html
It comes from India and by the sounds of it they didn't come through with the $$$. Mark Phelan was something of a brand manager for it in Europe and from the reply tweet also got shafted.
Just wanted to add: there is a Thwack thread already and besides possibly not coming through with sponsorship $$$ it could also be on the business end in form of the goods not getting delivered for example.
Tried dealing with this company while looking for my replacement racket. I still have not received my racket up to this day. It's close to impossible to deal with this company. I am not sure if there's anyone monitoring their mailbox. Replies take long enough, and sometimes there's no replies at all. You have to keep emailing and emailing and hope that you get a reply.. I guess their only redemption is that they do not ask you to pay first before receiving your rackets, otherwise it's reputation is going to go to the drains.
