HS Prannoy has beaten K Srikanth previously (and convincingly).

In fact, having seen several times both these players play, I fully share cobalt's optimism.
Prannoy nearly beat Lee Chong Wei while Srikanth came up very short.
Prannoy has beaten Jan O Jorgensen, Taufik Hidayat and Boonsak Ponsana.
Srikanth has beaten only Boonsak and has no other big scalps in his bag (yet).

Also, Srikanth relies almost exclusively on the big smash.
However, Prannoy has a very wide repertoire of shots.

IMHO, very soon, Prannoy will be the man to beat

I don't see Srikanth beating Xue Song today.
I'm now waiting for him to prove me wrong

Looks like China's future of XD is well secured. These 2 pairs look like the real deal.

All four are impressive. Very soon we'll be seeing their coming of age on the world stage.

It's high time for Sindhu to come out of Saina's shadow.

the queen of indian badminton serves to the crown princess sindhu 8-1. who's watching? a thrown game, anyone? lol jk

Will watch out for the young chinese mentioned by you all...good chance for them to prove themselves, having come this far.

xue song is in a different class, which srikanth and prannoy are close to achieving if they stay consistent. prannoy beat srikanth back when srikanth was not this good all-around, imo srikanth has really excelled. i like his game better now...
based on what transpired in 2013 and a few months before, i projected prannoy to be much higher up the rankings but it seems he's hit a wall. still, he's not failing to impress. this would be a good platform for him to shine and enter the big boys' club!

It seems to me Saina knows Sindhu's game better than the other way round.

Saina anticipates Sindhu's attacking shots well.

saina wins 14, (13?)...well, that was no fun.
good that saina's still got it in her...hope she can propel herself better because of this win and last at least till the AE or re-take the Swedish crown.

Yup, Saina seems to know all of Sindhu's weakness.
Wonder why Sindhu did not exploit Saina cross smash weakness like Deng did yesterday.

Sindhu has lots to learn I suppose.
